President Ram Baran Yadav highlighted the importance of education for a country's development at an event celebrating the diamond jubilee of a school in Birgunj. He said education is the backbone of development and that equal access to education allows for development and prosperity. The President praised the Kedia Group for their contributions to education and health in the country through establishing schools and hospitals. He also expressed concern about deforestation in the Chure region and the need to protect the region's ecology.

President Ram Baran Yadav today highlighted the importance of education for the country’s
development.
Speaking at the inaugural ceremony of a function organised to celebrate the diamond jubilee of
Sundarmal Ram Kumar Kanya Higher Secondary School in Birgunj today, President Yadav said
that education was the backbone of a country’s development. “From the beginning of human
civilisation, people have been talking about right to development for which development of
education and equal opportunity for are the bases,” opined Yadav.
“The ultimate goal of politics is economic prosperity and stability for which education is a
must,” he said. As the school was established with the special initiative of Kedia Group, he
hailed the organisation for its relentless contribution to imparting education and health services
in the country.
On a different note, Yadav expressed grave concern about the indiscriminate deforestation in the
Chure region. He said that protection of Chure region was inevitable for ecological conservation
and proper utilisation of resources. A souvenir that was published incorporating the history of the
school was released at the programme.
President Yadav also observed Kedia Eye Hospital in Parawanipur of Parsa. He will stay
overnight in Suparitar Barrack and return to the capital tomorrow.
