1. The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority today filed two separate
chargesheets against nine persons under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2002, at the Special
Court.
According to a press release issued by the anti-graft body, a corruption case was filed against
Prakash Chandra Bhatta, a first assistant at the Social Welfare Council, Lainchour, for allegedly
submitting fake academic qualification certificate to get promotion. The certificate of
intermediate level that he submitted to the NWC was said to have been secured from Bihar
Examination Board, India in 2007, and was bogus.
The CIAA also filed a corruption case against eight persons for allegedly embezzling grants
worth millions of rupees allocated to Jagarnath Baba Primary School under Sonama Resource
Centre headed by District Education Office, Mahottari, during various fiscal years.
The accused are district education officers Suresh Prasad Singh, Shatrughan Yadav, Nirmal
Kumar Ghimire and Pramod Kumar Sah, chairperson of School Management Committee
Dharmendra Kumar Yadav, headmaster Ram Babu Raya Yadav, resource person Raj Kumar Sah
and accountant of DEO Laxman Prasad Raya. Keshab Prasad Ghimire, according to the CIAA.
