INTRODUCTION
 Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited, doing business as Jio, is a LTE mobile network
operator in India.
 It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Reliance Industries headquartered in Mumbai.
 Provides wireless 4G LTE service network (without 2G/3G based services).
 It is the only 100% VoLTE (Voice over LTE) operator in the country, with
coverage across all 22 telecom circles in India.
 The services were first beta-launched to Jio's partners and employees on 27
December 2015 on the eve of 83rd birth anniversary of late Dhirubhai Ambani,
founder of Reliance Industries.
 Later services were commercially launched on5 September 2016.

Reliance Industries partners with Intex to make 4G VoLTE smartphones.
• Oct 2015
Reliance announces LYF, its own brand of smartphones compatible with Jio.
• Dec 2015
Reliance Jio’s services launched for employees in beta.
• Jan 2016
First smartphone under the LYF series – Water 1, is launched.
HISTORY (INTERESTING FACTS)
• Reliance Jio was originally called IBSL - In June 2010, after the broadband wireless auction (BWA),
Reliance Industries bought 96% stake in Infotel Broadband, it was the only company to have won
broadband spectrum in all 22 zones across the country.
• The actual launch date of Reliance Jio was December 27, 2015 it could only reach the beta stage by
the time. The service was made available to Jio employees and their family members for testing
purposes.
• Young employees- Jio boasts almost 60,000 young employees, working towards building the best
data service network in India. The average age of Jio employees is 30.
• LTE enabled smartphones - Jio had earlier partnered with Intex to make 4G enabled smartphones,
but later launched its own LYF series of smartphones with VoLTE support.
• Looking forward to partner with digital entrepreneurs- Since it has already built a huge platform

INTRODUCTION  Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited, doing business as Jio, is a LTE mobile network operator in India.  It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Reliance Industries headquartered in Mumbai.  Provides wireless 4G LTE service network (without 2G/3G based services).  It is the only 100% VoLTE (Voice over LTE) operator in the country, with coverage across all 22 telecom circles in India.  The services were first beta-launched to Jio's partners and employees on 27 December 2015 on the eve of 83rd birth anniversary of late Dhirubhai Ambani, founder of Reliance Industries.  Later services were commercially launched on5 September 2016.

HISTORY • Jul 2015 Reliance Industries partners with Intex to make 4G VoLTE smartphones. • Oct 2015 Reliance announces LYF, its own brand of smartphones compatible with Jio. • Dec 2015 Reliance Jio’s services launched for employees in beta. • Jan 2016 First smartphone under the LYF series – Water 1, is launched.

HISTORY (INTERESTING FACTS) • Reliance Jio was originally called IBSL - In June 2010, after the broadband wireless auction (BWA), Reliance Industries bought 96% stake in Infotel Broadband, it was the only company to have won broadband spectrum in all 22 zones across the country. • The actual launch date of Reliance Jio was December 27, 2015 it could only reach the beta stage by the time. The service was made available to Jio employees and their family members for testing purposes. • Young employees- Jio boasts almost 60,000 young employees, working towards building the best data service network in India. The average age of Jio employees is 30. • LTE enabled smartphones - Jio had earlier partnered with Intex to make 4G enabled smartphones, but later launched its own LYF series of smartphones with VoLTE support. • Looking forward to partner with digital entrepreneurs- Since it has already built a huge platform
