Definition
 Artificial intelligence (AI) is the ability of a computer
program or a machine to think and learn.
 General use, the term “artificial intelligence” means a
machine which mimics human cognition.
 John McCarthy came up with the name “artificial
intelligence” in 1955.
History

 Around for Decades
 Term first created in 1956
 One of the definitive references on AI (still used
today)was LAST publish in 1992
 Still use as a text book at MIT
Components
 An agent perceives its environment through sensor
and acts on the environment through actuators.
 Human: sensors are eyes, ears, actuators (effectors) are
hands, legs, mouth.
 Robot: sensors are cameras, sonar, lasers, ladar, bump,
effectors are grippers, manipulators, motors.

Nanotechnology
National Nanotechnology Initiative
Define nanotechnology as the manipulation of matter with at least one
dimension sized from 1 to 100 nanometers.
This definition reflects the fact that quantum mechanical effects are
important at this quantum-realm scale, and so the definition shifted
from a particular technological goal to a research category inclusive of
all types of research and technologies that deal with the special
properties of matter that occur below the given size threshold.
Quantum Computing
It is a computation device that makes direct use of quantum-mechanical
phenomena, such as superposition and entanglement, to perform
operations.
Whereas digital computers require data to be encoded into binary digits
(bits), each of which is always in one of two definite states (0 or 1),
quantum computation uses qubits (quantum bits), which can be in
superposition of states.

Definition
“A Computer is a multipurpose electric device that can
receive, process and store data.”
Explanation
They are used as tools in every part of society together with
the Internet. Computers nowadays are complex; there are a
lot of different components inside them, and they all serve
for different purposes.
History
 The Computer as we know it today had its beginning
with a 19th century English Mathematics Professor
name CHARLES BABBAGE. He designed the
Analytical Engine and it was this design that the basic
framework of the computers of Today are based on.
 It was called Atanasoff-Berry Computer (ABC).
Progress In The Models Of

Computer Expecting In Future
Technology is advancing at a quick pace and computers
become more powerful that they will eventually
revolutionise humanity.
