and say those words again and again, to retain them in
your memory. Repetition is the key to foreign language
learning.

failed World History because they “couldn't do the
work.”
● Talk with me if you're having problems and I will help
you with the material, but if you turn in your
assignments complete and on time you will do well.
● Late assignments are better than not turning anything

20. Pilot - Learning Management System

The class is focused on this EQ, with the ultimate goal being to improve student’s health behaviors and choices. Keys to fitness success: appropriately length shorts, participating daily (discuss injury/illness notes).

EQ - Everything in course geared towards answering this question, which they will do in the form of a debate at the end of the year, judged by outside partners. This is a collaboration between LA & WH
4 Thematic Units-
SIT - how govts/societies have changed over course of 20th century
C&G - systematic approach to studying conflicts and genocides of 20th century, how they unfold, and what we can do to prevent future ones (show video 1 minute)
*Stop Poster Project video at 1:19 (after Olivia done speaking) - tell them it’s available online so they can check it out later
*Picture: Shari Gordnier 1st place for poster on the Holocaust entered into the Max May Memorial Art Contest. Posters also auctioned off last year at Wright State to help raise money for UNICEF
Glo - Students will discuss the pros/cons and learn history of how it’s shaped the world we live in today and where they fit into that world
MC - China is a great case study for all three of our other units and students do an integrated making comic books in their Chinese and history classes
- JCOWA picture of JAWS COMET team (anagram for STEM JCOWA) who were the 1st place winners of the Dayton area Junior Council on World Affairs Quiz Bowl, beat over 60 other Dayton area teams and got to travel to Washington DC past summer to compete, where they met His Excellency Ambassador Mirpuri of Singapore. Lots of fun and I encourage you to attend the informational meeting once Mr. Lydy and I get organized in this fall.
