2. ORIGINAL IDEA
This is the original sketch that was created by
myself for my Digi pack. I wanted the front
cover to be a ordinary photo of the artist so that
the audience can immediately know who Paige
Gladstone is. In addition, as you can see I made
the name of the artist really small in the front
cover. As I gathered more information and
research I noticed that the name of the artist
had to be big and bold or not seen on the front
cover instead of it being small. Moreover, at the
back cover I wanted t6o have an image with her
mouth open to show the audience that she now
has a voce and wants to speaks out through her
lyrics.
3. Sketch Audience Feedback
I asked a range of different people
what they thought of my Digi pack
sketch so that I could get feedback.
Many people liked the design as they
felt that they would by the actual
album. Besides the audience liked the
idea of tape going across the CD disc as
it related to the album name voices
which shows that now she was going to
have a voice. However, they felt that
the piano being used in the inlay cover
wasn’t really good as it had no
connection to how the artist was
feeling. Finally, the audience felt like I
should have used some colour so that
they could get more of an idea of who
the artist is so that they can
understand the album name.
4. Original Idea
This is the original Idea for my promo poster. I
wanted the font of the artist to be quite swirly and
just above the image of the artist. Additionally, I
wanted to use a big image of the artist so that it
could take us the whole poster. The image I wanted
to use was of the artist side ways to show ere purity
in her music so that the audience will end up buying
it. Also I include the fact that it was a her debut
album that was coming out so that the audience can
see that she is a knew artist and giving them extra
information. Also, I have included the label name of
the artist to show who she is signed to and who is
working with to promote this album. I wanted the
Digi pack and promo poster to correlate which is
why I wanted to use the same image so that the
audience will notice the album.
5. Sketch feedback
I asked a many people what they thought of the sketch and the good
things that were said was that because it was a sketch it shows that
I am portraying ideas on paper that could potentially change if I
have other ideas. However, what the audience noticed was hat I
didn’t include enough detail on the album promo poster such as
where the audience can get the album such as HMV or GOOGLE
PLAY. This was a mistake made and it was important that I asked the
audience of their opinion of what they though about it so that it so
that I could make improvements and make it better. Also I wanted
the Digi pack and promo poster correlate which is why I wanted to
use the same image so that the audience will notice it immediately.
8. What I learned from the feedback?
What I have learned from my feedback was that the colour that was used for
my Digi pack was very attractive as it was bright. Also, I noticed that the
image that was used for the front and back cover is almost glowing and
therefore it is eye-catching and easy for the audience to notice it. In
addition, the photo used relates to the name of the album as the artist is
undoing the tape so that she can speak about her feelings while at the back
cover it is a cross to show that she has finished showing her feelings and
emotion. Therefore this links into the Richard Dyer start theory of the artist
becoming known and a icon. However, from the audience feedback I noticed
that in the inlay cover more information could have been placed so that the
audience can know and have more information about the artist. Besides
from the feedback I was told that the name of the artist was small and
wasn’t big enough for the audience to read therefore I will need to make
these changes so that the audience will be able to know that it is Paige
Gladstone's Album.
11. What I learned from the feedback
What I noticed about the promo poster for my artist was that it
resembles the CD cover and this was mentioned by a range of different
people therefore once they see the album cover they will know that the
album poster matches it. In addition, what I noticed from the feedback
given to me was that the promo poster looks professional however
things were missing from it such as extra information and images such as
the artist website and a small image of the potential or official album
cover as when I researched a range of album promo poster many artist
included the album cover to let the audience know so that they will be
able to buy it. Also I was told that the information box had to be placed
in the centre
13. First Edit Feedback
I managed to get some more feedback
about my first edit and I was told that
it looked in focus and the visual were
almost professional However, from the
feedback I was told that some of the
footage looked really dark and I should
have included more outdoor images.
On the other hand, I wanted to portray
a dark setting to show the different
voices that are effecting her. Also,
towards the end when watching the
music video you will notice that Paige
Gladstone begins to smile and the
scenes are brighter as there is more
light.
