2. In what way does your media product use,
develop or challenge forms and conventions of
real media products?
My Contents Page challenges conventions
within real media as it has a lack of imagery
and range in layout with the images and
the text is very structured. I felt I should
follow the clean, smart look I was going for
and felt that my magazine couldn’t follow
suite with the normal messy looking
contents page. I think having the images in
a clearer layout and the font following this
makes my magazine appear more formal,
reaching for what my audience are looking
for. The use of one other colour in the font
makes up for the lack of alternatives within
this page, the purple adds a splash of
colour therefore redeeming itself for not
having a lot of angles or size difference.

3. How does your media product
represent particular social
groups?
The images used within my
Contents Page were made by
me to look as though they
are CD’s for new Indie Rock
and Indie Grime bands; I feel
they follow the conventions
of this music genre through
the choice of imagery, band
and CD cover name. This
represents the social group I
was aiming for; 18-25 year
old females. I feel as though
the CD’s represent this social
group entirely well and follow
the conventions within my
chosen social group.
