3. Lamotrigine
Lamotrigine is considered an anticonvulsant drug
that blocks sodium channels.
❖ It is effective as monotherapy for focal seizures, and
is largely prescribed for this indication due to its
excellent tolerability.
❖ It is also used as a maintenance treatment in adults
with bipolar disorder to help delay the occurrence of
episodes of mood disturbance, such as depression,
mania or hypomania.

and consider new
