PROFESSIONAL SUMMARY
Results-driven professional with 10+ years of success with NPI, continuous improvement, and quality
management in both high-volume, high-mix and low-volume, high-complexity, high-mix environments.
Demonstrated excellence managing multinational, multimillion-dollar projects while liaising between diverse
stakeholders. Focused on enhancing customer experience by creating effective communication channels
between R&D and operations.
Expertly facilitate new product development and quality management activities with international cross-
functional teams. Draw on firm grasp of Six Sigma principles to create robust manufacturing processes, achieve
key gains in productivity and efficiency, reduce manufacturing defects, minimize expenses, and optimize
customer experience.
AREAS OF EXPERTISE
Project & Program Management – New Product Introduction [NPI] – Cost Reduction & Elimination – Process
Redesign & Improvement – Research & Development (R&D) – Operations Improvement – Cross-Functional
Collaboration – Organizational Development – Quality Monitoring & Assurance – Assembly Qualification –
Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) – Root Cause Failure Analysis
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
UTC Aerospace Systems, Aerostructures Division, Chula Vista, CA 11/2014 – present
UPPAP Project Lead – Supplier Development/Supply Chain: Lead cross-functional teams to develop and
deploy new PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) policy to a 13-site international aerospace business unit
and its multi-tiered supply base with goals to reduce cost of poor quality and improve on-time delivery.
• Developed PPAP database and communication processes to automate 80% of communication, tracking
and reporting. Reduced error rate from 60% to less than 5%, with continued drive for improvement.
• Integrate UPPAP policy through revised procedures, standard work, and training in all functional areas
of the business.
• Train employees and sub-tier suppliers on PPAP tools including Process Flow Diagram, DFMEA, PFMEA,
measurement system analysis, process certification, and control plans.
Lexmark International, Inc., Lexington, KY 2005 – 10/2014
Spent 5 years as part of the development team that designed, tested, and evolved a completely new consumer inkjet
cartridge/print head system from the ground up. Became more project management focused during the NPI phase,
which led to a transition into operations after successful product launch.
Product Engineer – Inkjet Supplies Operations (2009 – 2014): Manage cost reduction, quality, and
manufacturing NPI projects, interfacing with various departments. Drive ongoing process improvement and lean
optimization in mature products. Conduct root-cause analysis and convert findings into process improvements,
product design updates, and enhanced customer experience. Set project timelines, map resource needs, create
test plans, and develop implementation schedules. Ensure manufacturing robustness via PPAP, production
qualification, and monitoring of SPC. Develop and maintain effective tests and control plans so as to corral
nonconforming products before customer shipments.
• Successfully managed multiple product launches in new manufacturing locations.
• Achieved $55M+ total cost savings on inkjet printhead and cartridge improvement projects.
2. • Reduced manufacturing changeover time 90% and increased CPK from 0.6 to 1.8+ with Ink-fill station
process capability study and SPC tools.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE CONTINUED …
Research Engineer – New Inkjet Supplies (1/2005 – 2009): Performed R&D to advance product design from
initial concept to start of production. Coordinated packaging design, testing, and implementation.
• Expertly applied DoE, GD&T, Design for Six Sigma, and Design for Manufacturing principles on injection
molded plastic parts and fluid-filled vessels.
• Improved customer experience through improvements to product usability and ergonomics.
• Led manufacturing implementation for Lexmark 100 Series packaging.
o Reconciled diverse (often conflicting) packaging priorities of marketing, supply chain, development,
and manufacturing divisions.
o Assessed test results and gave feedback to packaging and other groups to improve designs.
o Trained manufacturing teams on proper product packing and shipment.
• Research focused on micro-fluidics, evaporation, and seal mechanics.
• Won “Make It Happen” award for building database that enabled team to quickly associate test results
with prototype configurations, drastically reducing required evaluation and development times.
• Received 2 patents in inkjet fluidics, with 5 patents currently pending.
Milliken & Company, LaGrange, GA 2003 – 12/2004
Quality Engineering Co-Op – Carpet Tufting Quality Assurance
• Eliminated 1300+ man-hours per year of manual research and data collection by developing MS Access
database tools that minimized Quality-related paperwork. Praised by Company Owner for contribution.
• Increased defect traceability nearly 100% and implemented safeguards to prevent future occurrences.
Briggs & Stratton, Auburn, AL 2000 – 2002
Manufacturing Engineering Co-Op – Small Engine Manufacturing: Performed PLC troubleshooting and
upgrades on assembly and machining lines. Edited electrical and cell layout schematics.
• Reduced cycle times 20% in a mature machining cell via combined use of PLC controls and time
studies/ergonomics.
• Facilitated Process FMEA for plant’s largest assembly line, resulting in FPY increase from 80% to 95%.
