Expectations of Students and Guidelines for the Day
 The weather forecast calls for upper 80’s on Friday (hot)!
 PTSA has purchased T-Shirts for the Celebration. They will be handed out in homerooms
Thursday. Please thank PTSA by wearing the t-shirt as your “ticket” into the event and be sure
to thank PTSA members in person for this gift. It is NOT an option to wear another shirt.
These shirts MUST be worn!
 You may “adorn” your t-shirt; however, it still must meet all dress code requirements,
including appropriate language and coverage of shoulders and stomach. Tanks may be worn
under the t-shirt to assist in meeting dress code.
 You may wear shorts, hats, socks, and sunglasses as well.
 Hats and sunglasses are NOT to be worn during the 8th
Grade Walk around the school that
begins at 9:25 am on Friday.
 Mrs. Boyd has purchased a cinch bag for each of you that reads “Class of 2023” on it!
Students may wear their new bags on their backs during the 8th
Grade Walk and should keep all
items within this bag that they wish to take outside. Students should mark their bags with
their names in some way. Use a paint pen or nail polish….something to write your name!
 Do NOT leave cinch bags or phones unattended. Use a buddy to help watch your items while
you play on the inflatables!
 Socks are required for many of the inflatables so plan accordingly.
 Students should wear shoes to participate in gym activities.
 Please apply sunscreen before arriving at
school.
 Students should NOT spray or apply
sunscreen in the building (no spraying or
applying anywhere in the building, including
restrooms and classrooms), as some people
may be allergic to the spray or scent.
 Should students need to re-apply sunscreen,
they may do so when on the back field and
outdoors only!
 Sunscreen
 Hat or Visor (as additional protection from the sun)
 Sunglasses
 Socks (needed for some inflatables)
 Frisbee or Soccer ball (may play Frisbee or Soccer on the field only)
 Small Towel (to use as a seat on the grass)
 *Camera and/or Phones – can be used during event!
 Bottled water will be provided to students, free of charge!
*Mr. Young will not spend time investigating lost or stolen items
on this day. Bring your cameras and phones at your own risk!!!
Use the buddy system to hold items while on inflatables. Who
is your “buddy” you’ll rely upon to keep your phone? Decide
that now! Do not leave expensive items on the ground or in
your bags unattended!!!!!
Make us proud and make the “Walk” memorable by:
 Staying in your single file line with your homeroom.
 Put valuables in a bag and carry on your back. You should
have nothing in your hands during the Walk.
 Remaining dignified in the walk; no shouting, no stopping to
talk, no wearing of hats or sunglasses, no pushing/shoving,
no use of earbuds….just be dignified and respect the
importance of the Walk! It is a celebration of YOU!
 Stay quiet during the Walk.
 It will move quickly. Keep up!
 It concludes in your team’s first rotation location.
 Students should move quickly and quietly to each rotation.
 Students should line up in a single file line at
9:15 inside the homeroom for the Class
Walk.
 Homerooms will exit their classrooms for
the Class Walk at 9:20 ….just like we do for a
fire drill…in single file line and quiet!
Teachers will exit their classes using the plan
on the next slide for the Walk.
 Students will not be allowed back in
classrooms until their assigned rotation!

location.
 Students must use school appropriate language and
behavior at all times.
 No running, horseplay, foul language, or poor manners
should be displayed.
 Students are expected to wait their turn in line for each of
the inflatables.
 Please thank the parent and adult volunteers and PTSA
for the t-shirts.
 Should a problem or concern arise, please report the
incident immediately to a teacher or school employee.
 A first aid station will be located on the field. Should an
accident occur, please notify the nearest adult.
USE GREAT MANNERS!
 All students must remain in their assigned location until returning
to homeroom group for the next rotation.
 In case of an emergency, students must first notify a teacher.
 Each teacher may send only 2 students at a time to the restroom,
and it must be for emergency purposes only.
 Students that are outside will be escorted into the building to use
the Tower restrooms, again with an adult volunteer as an escort.
 Students in the gym will use media center restrooms
 Students in the Cafeteria students will use the Cafeteria
restrooms.
 *No student may enter the building for any reason unescorted by
an adult.
*Teachers, do not ask students to return to your classroom for
forgotten items. They will not be allowed in the building without
an adult escort. Please plan accordingly. Please lock your doors
