2. HIPPA AND EMR DEFINED
Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA), is a 1996
congressional law, by which organizations are required to have both a risk
management and risk analysis program in place to access potential risk of
ethics, privacy, confidentiality and electronic vulnerability; and ensures a
solid security preventative measures that would reduce the potential risk.
Electronic medical record (EMR)/electronic health record (EHR) was
established by President Bill Clinton administration. It provides a
systematically structured for launch over several years with an agenda to
improve communication, patient safety and privacy.

5. BENEFITS OF HIPPA AND EMR
HIAPPA conceals patient confidential information. HIPPA has enable more
privacy and but more importantly has create a base for which providers
communicate and collaborate digitally and collect data for a better patient
experience. Information technology also makes so clear documentation and
billing charges.
EMR creates transparency of health and physical, quality assurance, make
workflow more efficient with its precision on information. Health care
organizations currently depend on technology for improvement of quality of
innovation, diagnosis and testing. Technology also allows providers to access
and create treatment plans, based on information depicting in an intranet
system.

7. RISK OF BREACHES IN CONFIDENTIALITY
Abiding by legislation, standards and regulations such as HIPPA and
EMR, from government and accredit agencies such Center for
Medicaid and Medicare and Joint Commission can prevent risks and
fine and loosing third party payer, including the implementation of
bundle payments, capitation and medical grouping, it is important to
abide by quality standards and risk management modules.
Organization can suffer legal litigations as well as loosing credibility
within the health care sector when reaches occur.
