Evaluate the language needs of students whose families speak a language other than English at home and recommend
appropriate language support. Use language teaching strategies to increase English proficiency for students who speak
a language other than English at home. Administer assessments with accommodations to ELLs per State regulations.
Collaborate with regular classroom teachers in the modification and/or differentiation of curriculum by meeting
regularly to review targeted academic needs and goals. Participate effectively at team meetings with teachers and
support staff using appropriate social skills, problem solving, and conflict resolution strategies. Maintain and secure

LPAC Chair duties were maintaining student records such as Home Language Survey, enrollment deadlines, hold
LPAC meetings to recommend placement of bilingual or ESL status. Acquired parent permission forms and used state
criterion-referenced assessment options for students. Held beginning, middle and end of year meetings to ensure
proper student placement and accommodations. Coordinated TELPAS testing in all areas of reading, speaking,
listening, and writing.

Reinforced lessons presented by teachers by reviewing material with students one-on-one or in small
groups. Enforced school and class rules to help teach students proper behavior. Helped teachers with
monitoring progress of students in class. Helped students with daily work in the Learning Center. Helped
teacher implements Life Skills Class by focusing on students basic needs, personal hygiene and developing
the skills necessary for them to find a job or live independently after graduation.
