2. What did you discover regarding the
following; duration, sound, speed and order of
titles, the use of colour and font style, the
decision to use titles over images or black
and/or the decision to use minimum titling.
The duration was small and quick it didn't take
a lot of time for all the titles to appear, the
sound was fast speed as were the titles so that
combined it together well. The colour and font
were very basic nothing special or grand to
remind the audience that this is a social realism
genre.
Overall, how did each film try to set for
audiences, the mood, tone and atmosphere and
possible storyline?
For Kidulthood the mood was set very dark
but very simple as its just lives about urban
areas in London but there was a lot of tension
this was shown by the sounds and speed of
titles. It set out to show that it was going to be
about students and each individual emotional
stories.
Overall, to what extent did you discover a
strong relationship between titling and what
you already know to be the common codes and
convention of your chosen genre/sub genre?
Codes and Conventions and titling did have a
bond as it had a variety of wide shots but the
location and colours were very edgy and basic.

colour and font style, the decision to use titles over
images or black and/or the decision to use
minimum titling.
The duration was small and quick it didn't take a lot
of time for all the titles to appear, the sound was fast
speed as were the titles so that combined it together
well. The colour and font were very visible and the
images along represent the characters.
Overall, how did each film try to set for audiences,
the mood, tone and atmosphere and possible
storyline?
For SHANK the mood was set very dark but very
edgy as its just lives about urban areas in London
but there was a lot of tension this was shown by the
sounds and speed of titles but also the images as it
has weapons. It set out to show that it was going to
be about young youths and violence in south
London.
Overall, to what extent did you discover a strong
relationship between titling and what you already
know to be the common codes and convention of
your chosen genre/sub genre?
Codes and Conventions and titling did have a bond
as it had a variety of non professional actors and the
colours are very edgy and the weapons portray that
its a social realism film but also the estates.

following; duration, sound, speed and
order of titles, the use of colour and font
style, the decision to use titles over images
or black and/or the decision to use
minimum titling.
The duration was very small as the titles
came in slowly but quite rapid. The music is
very emotional and slow to show the
frustration from being in jail and the colour
and font is white and black very plain.
Overall, how did each film try to set for
audiences, the mood, tone and atmosphere
and possible storyline?
For Bullet Boy the mood was made by the
font and music as it makes the audience get
a sense from the rough areas in south
London and where many youths end up in.
The titles is telling us about a rebellious
youth finally getting out of jail. What is
going to happen next?

what you already know to be the common
codes and convention of your chosen
genre/sub genre?
Codes and Conventions and titling did
have a bond as it had a variety of wide
shots but the location e.g. jail and colours
were very basic and simple but the use of
legal substance also shows us this is a social
realism genre film.

following; duration, sound, speed and
order of titles, the use of colour and font
style, the decision to use titles over images
or black and/or the decision to use
minimum titling.
The duration between the titles were quick
as the tension was increasing along with the
music but also the speed the main actor was
walking. The colour is very dark and glum
to represent how the actor is feeling.

audiences, the mood, tone and atmosphere
and possible storyline?
For Offender the mood was set very dark
but very simple as its just lives about urban
areas in London but there was a lot of
tension this was shown by the sounds and
speed of titles and the speed the actor was
walking . It set out to show that it was going
to be about violence and emotional
traumas.

strong relationship between titling and
what you already know to be the common
codes and convention of your chosen
genre/sub genre?
Codes and Conventions and titling did
have a bond as it had a variety of wide
shots but the location such as walking by
an estate and colours were very dark to
represent the anger the actor has.
