2. Educational principles in Lithuania
• Educational institutions are state, municipality or
private;
• Education is free of charge (except private
institutions);
• Education is compulsory for children from 7 to
16 years;
• The official language at schools is Lithuanian.
3. Educational principles in Lithuania 1
• 1st of September is the beginning of a school year;
• The end of May – the end of a school year for the
1st
to 5th
formers and the 12th
formers;
• The beginning of June – the end of a school year
for all the rest of the students;
• There are two semesters or three terms per year.
4. Educational principles in Lithuania 2
• A lesson lasts for 45 minutes; but for pre-school
pupils and the first formers only 30 – 35 minutes;
• Students have 22 – 31 lessons per week (from
Monday – to Friday);
• There are 24 – 30 students in a class, as a rule.

6. SEN childrens‘ education
• mainstream group or class, following the mainstream curriculum, but with
special methods applied;
• mainstream group or class, following a modified mainstream curriculum;
• mainstream group or class, following an alternative curriculum for those
learners who cannot cope with a modified curriculum;
• mainstream group or class, following an individual curriculum which is
specifically designed according to the learners’ needs;
• partly in a mainstream group or class, partly in a special group or class; or
• special group or class.

15. Erasmus+ in gymnasium
New method to work with SEN pupils:
•A separate group of SEN students;
•All the pedagogical support ( social teacher, special education teacher,
teacher‘s assistant, psyhologist);
• Every day self evaluation and setting targets for a day, a week.
Outcomes: increased self esteam, learned new
methods of relaxation, self-control, behaviour
control, higher achievements.
18. Impact so far
• Increased teachers attention to SEN students ( new
methods, cooperation);
• Comunication and colaboration skills;
• New experiences learning together and from each other;
• ICT skills;
• New tools to be used ( Kahoot);
• Increased motivation to learn foreign languages;
• Wider knowledge about participating countries;
