  3. 3. CATALAN EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM The educational system is compulsory from 6 to 16 years old and it is organised by cycles:  Infant Educational  Primary Education  Secondary Education  Baccalaureate  Middle Grade Vocational Training  Upper Grade Vocational Training  University Education

  6. 6. CENTCELLES SCHOOL’S HISTORY The school is 31 years old. It has suffered difficult periods, with few pupils and Department of Education has wanted to close it in several occasions. The closest area of the school is poor: low social, cultural and economic level of some families.

CHANGING THE PRESENT AND THEFUTURE In these last 6 years, the school has changed a lot and increased the number of pupils and teachers. This new period, the pedagogical and methodological line of the school has changed. Now, we bet for an innovative education, taking part in different projects in order to:  improve academic results  educate children in good values and basic habits

  11. 11. TEACHERS, PUPILS AND WORKERS Number of teachers: 31 Number of pupils: 284 Non-teaching staff: 4 Dinning room instructors: 6
  12. 12. CALENDAR Teachers start: 1st September Children start: 12th September Christmas holiday: 23th December to 8th January Easter Holidays: 2nd to 9th April Children finish: 22nd June Teachers finish: 29th June 5 days off
  13. 13. TIMETABLE Generally, the students are in the school 5 hours. In our case, 6 hours per day. Mornings: from 9.00 to 13.00  9.00 – 10.00: First lesson  10.00 – 11.00: Second lesson  11.00 – 11.30: Break  11.30 – 12.15: Third lesson  12.15 – 13.00: Fourth lesson Lunch: from 13.00 to 15.00 Afternoons: from 15.00 to 17.00  15.00 – 16.00: Fifth lesson  16.00 – 17.00: Sixth lesson
