• The (Tm) when applied to polymers suggests
not a solid-liquid phase transition, but a
transition from a crystalline phase to a solid
amorphous phase. Crystalline melting is only
discussed with thermoplastics, as thermosets
will decompose at high temperatures rather
than melt.
