Good Morning all teachers and fellow leaders we are Humanity over borders.
Our team name is Team Support, we got this idea after we went to the ropes course, because while we were there was a lot of people in our group that were feeling uncomfortable about the activity and so we had to support them and make them feel as if they could do it, and they all did!
Our logo, we have gotten the earth for our logo from the idea that the earth represents our humanity and how we have to care for each human being now matter our differences or situations.
We were brainstorming for our slogan all together as a group, we came up with up with mobilizing crisis care, this slogan really explains what we are trying to do as a group, have a mobile movement that gives care to crisis areas.
Make sure to follow us on all social media platforms in order to support our project.
Our team’ s Big Goal is to bring relief to crisis areas over borders. We plan to organize checkpoints where people can receive care packages with supplies that will help them with their journey also, we will provide them with protection from the vulnerability of receiving these items. These checkpoints will be mobilized as well. Once our organization and support grows we will expand the mobile units to other countries in need.
Having security, education, food and even a home are four necessities that are taken for granted throughout the developed countries of the United States and the rest of the North American region. However the rest of the world doesn’t have those everyday things. The thought of that drives our non profit organization to provide items such as food, water and medical equipment to the impoverished countries of Mexico and the greater South American Regions.
As a collective group, our mission is to offer relief services to areas experiencing great conflict and crisis. As our debut mission we will head south of the border, into Mexico. Here we will go into troubled parts of Mexico and aid those peoples situations. We will also help those traveling migrants on their perilous journey to America. As we have discovered, and you will witness later in this presentation, the journey from and through Mexico, to America is very dangerous. Humanity Over Borders wants to aid these migrants in their travels. We will be supplying supplying the travelers with Ready America bags. These support bags include Water, non-perishible food, first aid kits, blankets, a backpack, poncho, gloves, and a breathing mask. Each pack will last two travelers for three days. Although this is not a permanent solution to their toils, after these people have received their kits, we would have left them better than we found them. For local Mexican people with whom we will providing packs, this will make their lives in mexico better therefore encouraging them to stay there, easing the stress that great volume at the US MEXICO border causes. By helping the underprivileged Mexican people, we consequently help the crisis at the border.
Please stand for
Connecting back to the stay standing exercise, the journey to the mexican american border is extremely perilous
Travel to and across the Gulf of California on rafts made of tractor tires
Hike 150 miles on foot to avoid Mexican migrant checkpoints
Most migrants then illegally jump on the top of 10-15 freight train illegally to make their way North. They refer to the trains as La Bestia “The Beast” and El Tren de la Muerte “The Train of Death) because of the amount of people who fall off of the trains to their tragic deaths or suffer severe injuries to their bodies.
While waiting for freight trains in cities like Orizaba they are at risk of being abused, brutally raped, or kidnapped by the dominant gang, Los Zetas
Upon departure from the trains, the migrants finally make their way to the us border
Care packages and protection will clearly make their journey much easier and more successful
So when we all go back home we will have to implement our project and here is how we plan on doing it. We plan on informing others at school, Recruit our friends, begin fundraising, recruit a teacher to assist us and we can use social media to raise awareness to get our community involved.
