6. 6
“If you can quit for a day, you
can quit for a lifetime.”
7. Behind The Name
Future: Our goal is to decrease the number of teens exposed or
using drugs, but we know it will take time.
Sober: We want a clean community where drug use is no longer an
issue and doing this means showing people why they should become
clean and stay clean.
Society: We are a group of people with a common goal.
8. About The Slogan
The reasoning behind the
slogan is very simple because
it's your choice whether or not to
use a substance. We hope you
make the right one, and choose
to refuse.
9. What leads to drug abuse?
● Poor living conditions
● Being peer pressured
● Media glamorization
● Family history with drug abuse
9
10. Effects of Drug Abuse
Drug Abuse can cause a lot of harm and have many
potential effects such as:
● Drug abuse can affect your body
● Drug abuse can affect your family
● Drug abuse can affect your life
10
11. The Action Plan & How
We could accomplish this by :
● Sending out surveys.
● Raise awareness about helping peers
or yourself that might be going
through substance abuse.
● Try to create a peer lead organization
to help peers who are also going
through substance abuse.
● Call a helpline and talk to a
professional who can get you help
12. This is a website that
through a helpline you
can talk to someone
about your struggles with
substance abuse and
addiction.

Even if you aren’t facing
these struggles if you
know someone who is
you can try to help them
and push them towards
getting help, whether it
is through professionals
or helplines
13. CHAT WEBSITE
Community
Being able to talk to a group
who understands is a way to
make you feel empowered and
supported. It helps people
realize they aren’t alone.
Anonymity
Many teens are afraid of the
consequences of opening up
about drugs (parental
punishment and social
exclusion being two common
ones).

14. LET’S TALK ABOUT DRUGS
▰ Teenage volunteers will go to schools to
spread the message
▰ Teen speakers are more relatable
▰ Friendly approach that’s not too formal and
make students feel comfortable
▰ Open the discussion and get everyone
involved
15. Drug use percentages globally
15
United States & Eastern Europe : 5-6 % of the population struggles with drug usage,
this means that 1-in-20 suffers substance dependency.
Oceania, Western & Central Europe: 2-5 % of the population uses drugs
Across Africa, the Middle East, and Asia : 1-2 % of the population is suffering from
drug usage
In total around 164 million people have a drug use disorder!
16. Survey
● 70% of the teens here at Ambassador Leaders
had been exposed to and/or had the chance to
use drugs.
● According to CBS News, 81% of teens were
exposed to drugs, with 42% actually trying
them.
● But still 100% of teens know the risk factors.
16
17. Survey Cont.
● 84% of teens know someone who has used
drugs.
● Over 56% of teens would listen to a peer more
than adult or teacher about the danger of
drugs.
● The amount of teens being exposed to drugs
is unreal and causes great concern for the
future of our country.
20. The Point of the Program
With this program we hope to
reduce the amount of teens
resorting to drugs.
The information taken from the
surveys will help guide us to
fixing the issues.
▰ Volunteers that have been
trained by the program are
going to schools to give
awareness to students
about the program and
what it's about.
▰ We will be collecting data
to be sure that it successful
and works. For example,
surveys from students
going through it.

Editor's Notes
We are influencing our generation
and younger generations to not make
decisions that could hinder us from
making it to our bright futures.
The bright future that we are looking
forward to is a society where the abuse
of substances is no longer an option for us to
pick in our livelihoods.
Just think- when you have a problem, who do you go to? When the homework’s too much or that guy you like didn’t text you back, who do you turn to? Your friends. The people your age that really understand. So we want to use this to educate students about the terrifying reality of teen drug abuse.
We’ll have teenage students go to schools to spread our message. Something that we believe is that it’s important that students feel comfortable. One of the main issues with adult involvement is that it can feel like a lecture - no options and condescending. We want to make sure that students understand, but don’t feel as though we’re telling them what to do.
And finally, we want to make sure that students can be involved. This shouldn’t be a one sided conversation. Allow students to ask questions and they will learn.
