Billy the Bull
Main area of activity:
Film
Rationale: 100 words approx.
Review your progress throughout this year- what products have you made and what skills and
knowledge have you acquired? How will you use those skills?
What was your previous, similar production and how will it have a direct impact upon your project?
This year I have made an advert, games, an audio drama and a music video. I acquired
knowledge on photoshop as I hadn’t previously used it before this year. Using photoshop I learnt
how to make an animation and how to edit images. I may use my photoshop skills to make some
promotional material to go alongside my trailer. I have also gained knowledge in editing audio with
Adobe Audition and video through using Premiere.
My previous similar production was a music video. This will have a direct impact on my project as
it provided me with recent experience editing using Adobe Premiere, which I should use to edit my
final product.
Project Concept: 200 words approx.
What is the concept for your project and what are you going to make?
What research will you need to conduct and how will it help you make your project?
The concept for my project is that I am going to make a trailer for a movie. I am going to make an
action/crime movie. Alongside my trailer I may make some print based work such as a poster for
the film or maybe an advertising campaign to create public interest in the film.
I will need to research other movie trailers, especially ones from similar genres to mine, to see
what techniques they use that I could incorporate into my work to interest the viewer such as
editing and the effects used.
Something else I will need to research is Adobe After Effects. This is a software that can be used
to make special effects. I have not used this software however so I will need to find out how to use
it since I will probably include special effects in my trailer. Considering the genre of film that I am
going for is crime, special effects such as gunshots and explosions and one of the main things that
people want to see in these movies.

How will the project be evaluated and reviewed: 50 words approx.
How do you plan to evaluate the work? Reference conducting on-going evaluation (Production
Reflections) and your final self-reflection (Evaluation), analysing your work and its outcomes.
How will this process help developing your working practices as you continue with your
study/media career?
I will evaluate my work through my production reflections, where I’ll talk about my work whilst I’m
doing it. I’ll also evaluate my work through my evaluation where I will talk about this project as a
whole.
Evaluating my work helps develop my working practices as it shows me the things that I enjoy and
could continue in the future.
