Animals are one of the five kingdoms of living things. We can
divide animals into two large groups: vertebrates and
invertebrates.
VERTEBRATES have an internal skeleton that is
articulated.
Vertebrates can be oviparous or viviparous.
We divide vertebrates into five groups : fish, amphibians,
reptiles, birds and mammals.
INVERTEBRATES are the most numerous and diverse
group of animals. Some invertebrates have a soft body,
some have a shell. Most are oviparous.
There are six main types of invertebrate: sponges,
Cnidarians, echinoderms, annelids, molluscs and arthropods.
