Responsibilities
 Monitor the system hour by hour basis and report the faults to the Shift Engineer in order to
rectify the faults with no time and avoid the interruption in the airport operations.
 Process the activities/complaints from previous shifts, schedule & effectively prioritize work
assignments (preventive & breakdown maintenance) in accordance with the Airfield lighting
control and monitoring system.
 Ensure on time completion & availability of manpower, material & equipment to accomplish
assigned tasks. Provide necessary briefings to staff regarding the tasks/procedures/safety
aspects at the start of the shift & ensure the smooth handover of information between shifts.
 Provide guidance to the staff on fault-finding and diagnosis of breakdowns and various other

standard settings/illumination levels are in place and required serviceability levels including

2.  Monitor and evaluate engineering works via daily/weekly inspections and provide corrective
actions, to ensure the smooth, safe and reliable operation and minimal downtime for the shift.
Prepare and forward reports for review and manage the effective maintenance of records.
 The jobholder will monitor, reconcile and assist with the budget administration and controls
related to the section, prepares the monthly expenses summary for management reference, to
ensure controlled utilization of the annual budget.
 Initiate the request and liaise with the central store in order to obtain materials from external
suppliers. Maintains and updates buffer stock level for spare parts etc. to ensure the proper
functioning of maintenance activities.
 Establishes updates and maintains the section files, time sheets, budget expense records, leave
records, plant, equipment and facility inventory records (asset list), equipment calibration
records etc. to keep up to date the data management system.
 Check the account for the tools and equipment allocated for the staff within the assigned work
area and ensure the proper return of the same in a good working condition in order to maintain
quality standards.
 Ensure that the check list observations are attended to and daily logbook, history cards &
CMMS/maintenance database are updated with the activities carried out for reference,
traceability and action.
 With the assistance of other shift engineers, monitoring the buffer stock level of the spares to
ensure availability of the spares in stock.
 Support and assist in man-management including staff reporting, competency assessment, staff
counseling and team building. Provide safe environment for staff.
 Ensure adherence to the department’s integrated quality management procedures and Safety
Management System procedures to achieve the target performance level.
 Provide expert help to staff in order to minimize the down time of the equipment/facilities. Assist
in the development and implementation of a competency development program for the technical
staff and conduct regular training in coordination with AFL-Maintenance & Development
Engineer.
