There are two different shapes
of calcium in our
water: calcite and aragonite.
Small calcite molecules easily
cling to surfaces forming hard
scale. Long narrow aragonite
molecules are less “sticky”
staying suspended in the water
- reducing scale. A strong

shape of calcium from round
calcite to long aragonite.

If you look on the web, you will find 2 kinds of studies,
stories and data.
• Those that show that magnetic water treatment is
effective, safe and powerful and reducing scale.
• Those that say Magnetic WaterTreatment is
unproven and/or ineffective at “softening” or
removing calcium from water.
Which is true? Both!

12. A Note about the Science
It matters what you are measuring!
MagneticWaterTreatment reduces scale, not calcium.
It does not try remove calcium from water.
1. Studies that test for “softness” (calcium levels)
after treatment find that Magnetic treatment
doesn’t effect water softness or calcium levels.
(These are referenced by water softening
companies to show magnets don’t work)
2. Studies that look at scale buildup show that
magnetic water treatment does reduce scale.
