1. Installing a shallow horizontal impressed
current CP groundbed in West Georgia

2. 44 m long, 2.3 m deep and 0.6 m wide trench is excavated.

3. Upon completion of trenching , 0.15 m high, coke breeze padding is laid.

4. 30 nos. MMO/Ti anodes are inspected and equally spaced along the trench.

5. Upon installation, anodes are backfilled with 0.15 m high, coke breeze.

6. Soft soil is then used to backfill the active section and 35 mm2 ring cable is laid.

7. Each individual 25 mm2 anode cable tail is spliced onto the ring cable.

8. Warning tape is laid and native soil reinstated over the groundbed.

9. Groundbed resistance to earth is measured and verified to be acceptable.

10. Ring cable is spliced to 35 mm2 positive cable, that is run to 48 V – 15 A rectifier.
