This document discusses biodegradable materials and measuring their degradation rates. It explores using biodegradable plastic bags, chairs, drinks bottles, and cans to help the environment. An activity measured the degradation of foam peanuts, gelatin capsules, films and gels in acid, base and boiling water. All biodegradable materials degraded fastest in boiling water, and acidic solutions caused faster degradation than basic solutions. The document also proposes using bioplastic pipes for irrigation to water soil periodically without landowners, apply in gardens and homes, provide a cheap product, and help save money for state farms by acting as compost.
