Journal Entry # 2
ORGANIZATION AND ADMINISTRATION OF GUIDANCE: GUIDANCE
PERSONNEL, TEACHER- COUNSELOR, COORDINATORS AND COUNSELORS
Anyone can be a guidance personnel, teacher-counselor, coordinators and
counselors if he just possesses the qualities of having this position. These staffs of
guidance program must be aware on their specific role as a person involved because
the success of the guidance program lies in their hands.
What I learned about this topic was that the specific functions of every staff and
how significant their role is as the staff of the guidance program. The guidance
personnel such as the chairman must be firm on the policies yet still maintain friendly
attitudes. The teacher-counselor must be sensitive about his pupil’s problems because
he is the in-charge in monitoring the pupil’s attitudes and behavior and the coordinators
as well as the counselors must be fair in treating individual’s issue and must be an
open-minded person. All of the staff in the organization must coordinate to each other to
achieve the organization’s goal which is to provide the learners needs.
Having knowledge about these matter made me more open-minded person. I
came to a realization that I cannot live alone. I need companions in all journey of my life.
An organization is like a human life it will never exist if only one person is involved. As
they say “No man is an island”. This topic also serves as my eye-opener, that I should
use my initiative to cooperate in school activities or classroom activities because as part
of it my idea might have a big help for the success of the activities. I was also inspired to
continue studying my desired degree because I want to experience the feeling of being
a guidance personnel, how is the feeling when you work together with the other staff of
the organization and how it feels like to help the learners overcome their problems.
