TARGET AUDIENCE
By Aisha Khatun-Ali
MY AUDIENCE POP GENRE
AGE
 My intended target audience are teenagers, who are aged 11-16
years old. The language used will be suitable for my target audience
because it will be in their stereotypical dialogue e.g colloquial
language. The coverlines will also have context which would appeal
to the demographic age stereotypes.
GENDER
 I am adhering to conventional pop magazines by aiming my
magazine towards the female gender. This will influence the
connotation house style e.g pink connotation to femininity.
PSYCHOGRAPHICS
 Teenage lifestyles are revolved around everyday media. This shows that
iconic celebrities will be what my intended target audience listen too. They
also would have interests in music which holds opinions. These opinions
have the potential to be viral marketed which could promote the
magazine. The magazine must be entertaining so that it engages the
intended target audience and makes them want to act through purchase.
Coverlines that could interest them include featured interviews and
information you can get in social networking websites such as twitter.
SOCIO-ECONOMIC GROUPS
 Teenagers are categorized under E which are people who have no
income and are not economically active. This means that they get their
wealth from their parents which allows them to purchase items such as
magazines. I believe for Rising star to be successful, their should be
monthly editions so that some of the teenage wealth can be spent on
magazine purchase. This will help develop brand value. The future goal of
my intended target audience would be meritocracy so they can afford
more luxuries, more than their parents, through the education system.
