2. LUMIX GF6
This was the camera that we used in the filming of our
opening. This was Gaby’s camera, so she had used the
camera before. The rest of our group had not used the
camera before, so Gaby was able to teach us the basics of
how to film, take pictures, zoom and focus. The camera was
convenient as it was very portable and easy to use. It was
also a higher quality camera than the ones supplied by the
school, so made for a better quality film opening. This
camera would be ideal when creating another project due to
its ease of use and quality.

3. Blogger
For all of my research, planning and production, I
had to keep a write up of everything. This was to
be done on an online blog, so blogger was the
application I used. Throughout the process of
blogging, I learnt new techniques such as
embedding YouTube clips and other applications
into a blog post. The blog was convenient as it is
easy to use and, once the template is modified, is
also easy to navigate.

4. Google Accounts (YouTube/Google
Drive/Google+)
YouTube and Google+ for me were a way to share our
production and production process. All of my blog posts would
be shared onto my Google+ account and the drafts/audience
testing for our film opening are on our group YouTube account
(some audience testing is on Amy’s account).
Google Drive was used to share all screenshots, pictures and
drafts between the group. We originally didn’t have an account as
we did not know how to use or create one. The account was
needed as so we could edit our piece if Gaby was absent, as the
editing took place on her MacBook.

5. Voice Memos (iPhone 6s)
For the voice over on our production, I used my mobile
phone’s built in microphone to record. Using the Voice
Memos app, I recorded the voice over. This was then
sent to Gaby’s laptop via iMessage, where she could
import it into her files and add it to the film opening. As
I had used the app before, I did not learn anything new
in the process of recording, however due to both my
phone and Gaby’s laptop being made by Apple,
transferring the recording was easy and quick.

6. Outlook/Office 365
Outlook/Office 365 was used throughout the
production and planning process as a way of
sharing any links to YouTube clips and sharing
our written documents. In our planning stage, we
shared documents as we did not write each stage
individually. This was an easy task as we could
share our findings through Outlook/Office 365.
As this is our school email, we were used to the
system, so we did not learn any new skills.

7. Facebook Messenger
As well as using email, our group used Facebook
Messenger as a way of communicating ideas,
reminding others of things needed and helping each
other on work. Because it is an app on our phones,
we can access it at any time, so was very convenient
if we had any immediate issues. It is also easy to use
as I have had the app for a long time, so am used to
how it works.

8. MacBook Pro
Gaby’s MacBook Pro was the laptop used to edit our
production. We decided this as the MacBook came
with an editing software already installed (iMovie).
This allowed us to immediately edit our film and, as
Gaby had used the application before, we knew what
we were doing.
As I have a Windows 10 Laptop, the OS software was
different to what is was used to, so I found it slow to
edit as I had not been used to the system. However, as
time progressed, I felt that I improved.

9. iMovie
iMovie was used as our editing platform for our
production. We used this as we decided that editing
on Gaby’s MacBook would be more convenient as
it’s easier to use. I had never used iMovie before, so
learnt throughout the process editing, so was
difficult for me at first. I learnt new skills such as
fading sound, creating cuts, jump cuts, cross
dissolves (and other transitions) and adding filters.

10. SlideShare/Prezi
SlideShare and Prezi are both applications that were used
to present different posts on my blog. SlideShare allows
me to share Microsoft Office documents
(Word/PowerPoint) on the blog post, whilst Prezi is a
separate way to present information. As I had not used
either of these applications before, I learnt how to create
and customise a Prezi document and I learnt how to
embed both of these onto a blog post as a viewing
window and not a link. It was ideal to use both as they
showed creativity within the presentation of my work,
which kept my blog interesting.
