QUESTION
SEVEN.Gaby Stocker.
MY
PRELIMI
NARY
FILM
PLANNING:
➤ I definitely improved on my planning compared to my
preliminary. Our first story board had basically no detail at all,
we didn’t include the movement for the shots or how long they
would be.
➤ We also planned to use a lot more variety of shots in our
actual film opening, in my preliminary we only uses one
establishing shot and few others, however in my real one we
have used way more.
➤ This shows how our knowledge has grown because our real
thing is more interesting because of the amount of different
shots we used.
CAMERA SKILLS:
➤ In our Preliminary film most of
the shot are very shaky and
not framed very well.
➤ However, on our real thing we
made sure that every shot was
still and if it wasn't we would
re-film it. We made sure we
used a tripod to keep the shots
still and, when we were
panning, we did it very slowly
to make sure it was smooth.
EDITING:
➤ I found the editing for our real
film actually easier than the
editing for our preliminary film.
This is because we used
iMovie which I knew how to
use, however, on the
preliminary film we used
Premier Pro which was quite
complicated and I couldn’t
figure it out.
CREATING SOUND:
➤ On our preliminary film I edited the sound to make it repeat.
However, we didn’t include a voice over meaning we didn't
have to edit sound levels.
➤ In our opening scene we had a voice over as well as a
soundtrack. This meant I had to mix sound levels, making sure
that the voice over is able to be heard.
CREATING AN
IDENT:➤ We had no ident for our
preliminary film, but we did
create one for our real thing.
➤ We audience tested to see
what the audience thought
would be best.
➤ This is our final ident:
TEAM WORK:
➤ I really liked my group, I think we
worked well together and all
contributed when we needed it.
➤ I did the majority of the editing, but I
was happy to and it was for easier for
me to because I knew how to do it,
and the rest of my group always sat
with me and we all put our idea
together.
➤ We all communicated well, helping
each other throughout the course work
and made sure we were all at the
same point so we could work together.
➤ I would definitely work with this group
again because of how supportive they
were.
