You will submit your Individual Report on the ITD101 Blackboard site.
To do this, follow these steps:
Click Assessment (left-hand panel) -> Assessment: Individual Report -
Submission: Individual Report.
Read the assignment document and the marking criteria at the end of
this document.
Complete the tasks.
Attach a single document and ensure the criteria in the required report
template is followed.
Note: We usually use online web-based text-matching software such as
QUT SafeAssign DirectSubmit to compare electronically submitted
reports. When your papers are submitted into blackboard, sections of the
your reports that match other sources (including past and present student
submissions) are highlighted and identified. The the highlighted matched
text forms an Originality Report and will be made available to us. We
strongly encourage you to think twice before plagiarising.
Late Submissions & Extensions
We cannot accept late submissions! This means that if you submit your
assignment a second after 11:59 pm on Friday the 14th of April, you will
receive a mark of 0/36%. QUT has a strict policy on late submissions
and any relaxation of this policy is highly unlikely provided that you
have used the Blackboard submission system before. Please refer to
QUT’s Late Submission Policy available at:
http://www.mopp.qut.edu.au/E/E_06_08.jsp#E_06_08.02.mdoc. Make
absolutely sure that you submit on time and don’t leave things to the last
minute!
Academic Misconduct and Dishonesty
We will be using plagiarism software to detect irregularities in your
reports. If we detect any, we will have to report the irregularities. In
cases where QUT finds major breaches to academic integrity, the
consequences can be severe (up to permanent expulsion from
University). We strongly encourage you to think twice before
plagiarising (both plagiarising yourself as well as letting others
plagiarise your work) as it is often better not to submit anything than
submitting the work of others.
Report Writing & Language Expectations
You are required to use a report writing style. This includes the correct
use of English and we strongly encourage you to check your work
before you submit it. Improper use of English (SMS language, no
commas, full stops, etc.) will result in deductions from your mark.

TASK: Impact Analysis & Improvements
Your task is to develop a written report comprised of two-parts:
Part 1 – The Product Impact:
Undertake an impact analysis of Coles Flybuys. Your analysis should
focus on the product’s impact on individuals.
Part 2 – Opportunity to Improve:
Explore two key opportunities to improve the product for individuals or
the case company.

Guiding Questions to ExplorePART 1: The Product Impact
Explore the background information of the above product. Consider
these questions:
What is the product? Who developed it?
What need/opportunity does it fill? Why was this product built?
How is it used and by whom?
When is it used?
What situations is it used in?
Explore the role of theory to help predict or explain the product’s impact
on individuals. Consider these questions:
What theory is chosen?
What constructs of your chosen theory is useful to use in your analysis?
How can your chosen theory help you to analyse the product’s impact on
individuals?
Analyse the product’s impact on individuals. In your analysis include
impacts or effects that occurred indirectly, unintentionally, or were
delayed outcomes of the product. Consider these questions:
Why is the product used?
What impact does the product have (both positive and negative), and on
who?
How has the product been able to do what it does?
Why has it become so successful?
PART 2: Opportunity to Improve
Explore ways to improve the product for individuals or for the case
company. Consider these questions:
Are there current or new technologies that could be integrated into the
product to improve it in some way, how?
Are there failings of the product that could be fixed, how?
Are there benefits of the product that could be enhanced, how?

ATTENTION: The following headings are a guide to help structure your
report. Each section and heading is mandatory and must be included in
your report, but you can break these down further.
Cover Page with Title (Not included in the word limit)
Include:
Name and student #, Course title, Assessment title, Chosen product /
case company, Tutorial (e.g. Monday 12-2pm), Due date, Word count.
Executive Summary (Not included in the word limit)
A snapshot of the entire report, covering the main points of the report.
Part 1: The Product Impact

- Theory Justification (6%)
- Impact Analysis (15%)

To do this, follow these steps: Click Assessment (left-hand panel) -> Assessment: Individual Report - Submission: Individual Report. Read the assignment document and the marking criteria at the end of this document. Complete the tasks. Attach a single document and ensure the criteria in the required report template is followed. Note: We usually use online web-based text-matching software such as QUT SafeAssign DirectSubmit to compare electronically submitted reports. When your papers are submitted into blackboard, sections of the your reports that match other sources (including past and present student submissions) are highlighted and identified. The the highlighted matched text forms an Originality Report and will be made available to us. We strongly encourage you to think twice before plagiarising. Late Submissions & Extensions We cannot accept late submissions! This means that if you submit your assignment a second after 11:59 pm on Friday the 14th of April, you will receive a mark of 0/36%. QUT has a strict policy on late submissions and any relaxation of this policy is highly unlikely provided that you have used the Blackboard submission system before. Please refer to

Academic Misconduct and Dishonesty We will be using plagiarism software to detect irregularities in your reports. If we detect any, we will have to report the irregularities. In cases where QUT finds major breaches to academic integrity, the consequences can be severe (up to permanent expulsion from University). We strongly encourage you to think twice before plagiarising (both plagiarising yourself as well as letting others plagiarise your work) as it is often better not to submit anything than submitting the work of others. Report Writing & Language Expectations You are required to use a report writing style. This includes the correct use of English and we strongly encourage you to check your work before you submit it. Improper use of English (SMS language, no commas, full stops, etc.) will result in deductions from your mark. * Submit an electronic copy via Blackboard. TASK: Impact Analysis & Improvements Your task is to develop a written report comprised of two-parts: Part 1 – The Product Impact: Undertake an impact analysis of Coles Flybuys. Your analysis should focus on the product’s impact on individuals. Part 2 – Opportunity to Improve:
  • 3. Explore two key opportunities to improve the product for individuals or the case company. Option Company Coles Product Flybuys Guiding Questions to ExplorePART 1: The Product Impact Explore the background information of the above product. Consider these questions: What is the product? Who developed it? What need/opportunity does it fill? Why was this product built? How is it used and by whom? When is it used? What situations is it used in? Explore the role of theory to help predict or explain the product’s impact on individuals. Consider these questions: What theory is chosen? What constructs of your chosen theory is useful to use in your analysis? How can your chosen theory help you to analyse the product’s impact on individuals?
  • 4. Analyse the product’s impact on individuals. In your analysis include impacts or effects that occurred indirectly, unintentionally, or were delayed outcomes of the product. Consider these questions: Why is the product used? What impact does the product have (both positive and negative), and on who? How has the product been able to do what it does? Why has it become so successful? PART 2: Opportunity to Improve Explore ways to improve the product for individuals or for the case company. Consider these questions: Are there current or new technologies that could be integrated into the product to improve it in some way, how? Are there failings of the product that could be fixed, how? Are there benefits of the product that could be enhanced, how? Report Template (Required) ATTENTION: The following headings are a guide to help structure your report. Each section and heading is mandatory and must be included in your report, but you can break these down further. Cover Page with Title (Not included in the word limit) Include: Name and student #, Course title, Assessment title, Chosen product / case company, Tutorial (e.g. Monday 12-2pm), Due date, Word count.

Part 1: The Product Impact - Product Background (2.5%) - Theory Justification (6%) - Impact Analysis (15%) Part 2: Opportunity to Improve - Product Improvements (10%) Conclusion (Not included in the word limit) A final set of statements indicating what this report is about, what your findings were and what you suggestions for improvement were. Appendices (Not included in the word limit) Any materials (images, tables, figures, content) that does not need to be fully explained in the body of the report, but would allow the reader to find further information about it if necessary. References (Not included in the word limit) Reference any concepts, theories or ideas. Using a minimum of 5-10 peer reviewed references is recommended.
