Current requirements engineering practices for gathering user input are characterized by a number of communication gaps between users and engineers which might lead to wrong requirements. The problem situations and context which underlie user input are either gathered back in time, or submitted with wrong a level of details. We think that making user input a first order concern of both software processes and software systems harbours many innovation opportunities. We propose and discuss a continuous and context-aware approach for communicating user input to engineering teams and other users, by a) instrumenting the problem domain, b) proactively recommending to share feedback and c) annotating graphical interfaces.

However, additional research might frustrate a recommendation of this alternative if it is found to fall short of other criteria while a second alternative fares better. Part 1: Data Migration and Loading (aka Extraction, Transformation, and Loading)
This problem is worth 40% of the assignment.
An important element of the migration of data from an old system and loading it onto a new system is the all-important intermediate process of transformation. That’s why this is also known as Extraction, Transformation, and Loading, or ETL processes.
When data is transformed, it must be mapped from the old system to the new. Mapping answers the question, given data field X in the old system, what is its corresponding field Y in the new system? But before we even perform the mapping, we have to ensure that, as a minimum, data in the old system is in Third Normal Form (3NF). Otherwise, we will be introducing possible redundancies into the new system.
This problem requires you to take a set of data that is in 1NF, and transform it into 3NF. You will be given the initial table layout with sample data in an Excel spreadsheet. You may recreate the data in 3NF in the Excel spreadsheet, or on the following blank page using the Insert Table function. You do not have to provide 2NF version of the database, just provide the 3NF version, which must include all applicable tables, and, given the data provided to you, the data in the tables. So, when this entire assignment has been completed, if you choose to complete this problem in the Excel workbook, you will be submitting TWO files – this Word document, and the Excel document.
The problem itself deals with patients in a doctor’s office. Before you reduce it from 1NF all the way to 3NF, you will need to know the following dependencies, which are listed below:

and be related to what we are studying this semester in Enterprise Resource Planning. The

as Google Scholar, Academic department repositories, or a significant commercial company
involved in research such as IBM etc. All students must select a different paper. Thus, the
paper must be approved by your lecturer before proceeding. In case two students are wanting
to present on the same paper, the first who emails the lecturer with their choice will be
allocated that paper. Please note that popular magazine or web-site articles are not academic
papers.
A grade of 10% of the Units mark will be awarded for your presentation and your participation
in other student presentations. You are to prepare a set of powerpoint slides for your
presentation. If you do not participate in at least 70% of other student’s presentations, you
will forfeit a significant proportion of the marks for this component.

B. Feasibility Analysis
Q1: To determine the likelihood of success implementing the ideas developed in Section A above, you’ll need to conduct a
Force Field Analysis. This method lists, discusses, and evaluates the various forces for and against a proposed change. When a
change is planned, Force Field Analysis helps you look at the big picture by analyzing all of the forces impacting the change and
weighing the pros and cons.
Terms:
Driving Forces: forces affecting a situation that are pushing in a particular direction; they tend to initiate a change and keep it going.
In terms of improving productivity in a work group, pressure from a supervisor, incentive earnings, and competition may be
examples of driving forces.
Restraining Forces: forces acting to restrain or decrease the driving forces. Apathy, hostility, and poor maintenance of equipment
may be examples of restraining forces against increased production. Equilibrium: reached when the sum of the driving forces equals
the sum of the restraining forces. In our example, equilibrium represents the present level of productivity. By knowing the pros and
cons, you can develop strategies to reduce the impact of the opposing forces and strengthen the supporting forces.

practice through the use of digital medical office software applications. The software
allows you to master appointment-setting, patient health record management, medical
diagnoses and procedural coding, patient billing, and the patient’s financial
transactions in a practice. The purpose of this Portfolio Project is to give you real world
experience as a future medical administrative assistant and to aid in building your

1. Overview
We have developed the analytical tools that economists use when discussing policy options
and have discussed its likely impacts on the economy in theory.
In this assignment you take the role of the policy advisors, employed by government
departments or big corporations (your clients are therefore the government and its ministers
and big corporate organisations) to apply those skills and expertise knowledge accumulated
in this course so far.
As an expert’s role in the government /corporation decision making process, your task has
the following two objectives:
Analysis: Experts are responsible for analysing the economic scenario (depicting the likely
impact of the policy on the economy), using the specialised knowledge and the technical
expertise in the discipline.
Communication skills: Experts must communicate their finding and recommendations
effectively to the decision-makers in government – ministers, senior public servants – and
executives of corporations as an independent/third party observer.
This assignment is designed to help you develop the skills of critically interpreting and
analysing macroeconomic data and effectively communicating your findings to the targeted

There will be three parts to this assignment:
Part A: Diagnostics (macroeconomics data collection and interpretations)
Task: You apply knowledge to the macroeconomics data and present a diagnostic
analysis of the economy. Make important observations and assess the current
situation of the economy; finally, identify if economy is ‘stable’ or showing
any signs of ‘economic downturn’ or any other problem.
Part B: Policy brief report
Task: Based on your ‘Diagnostics’ in Part A, you suggest the ‘Policy
Recommendations’. These recommendations must be backed by proper
justification and rationale. As the last step, communicate everything
(diagnostics, policy recommendations, justification/rationale) effectively to
your client in the form of a policy brief. Policy briefs aim to be practical and

Select an organization (business, not-for-profit, institution, etc.) and interview a senior executive (e.g. the Owner, CEO, CIO or other senior officer) about his or her company’s use of Information Systems.
Your goal is to write a case study of how they use information systems to better manage their enterprise to achieve their strategic or tactical objective.
You will need to select an organization and executive willing to be interviewed then do some research on his or her company. Then you will develop a list of questions for your interview. Then do the interview. Based on what you learn, you may want to do some additional research and analysis before writing your case study paper.
When you meet, you will want to learn something about their business. How do they use information systems in general? What has been their recent focus? What problems are they trying to solve and how have they gone about solving them? Are they happy with the results? What have they learned? What are their plans for the future?
Your case study should start with a summary of what the business is all about. It should then deal with how it uses information systems and it should end with your group’s observations and analysis. What are YOUR conclusions? Do you have any recommendations?
Your Group’s Paper:

B. Feasibility Analysis
Q1: To determine the likelihood of success implementing the ideas developed in Section A above, you’ll need to conduct a
Force Field Analysis. This method lists, discusses, and evaluates the various forces for and against a proposed change. When a
change is planned, Force Field Analysis helps you look at the big picture by analyzing all of the forces impacting the change and
weighing the pros and cons.
Terms:
Driving Forces: forces affecting a situation that are pushing in a particular direction; they tend to initiate a change and keep it going.
In terms of improving productivity in a work group, pressure from a supervisor, incentive earnings, and competition may be
examples of driving forces.
Restraining Forces: forces acting to restrain or decrease the driving forces. Apathy, hostility, and poor maintenance of equipment
may be examples of restraining forces against increased production. Equilibrium: reached when the sum of the driving forces equals
the sum of the restraining forces. In our example, equilibrium represents the present level of productivity. By knowing the pros and
cons, you can develop strategies to reduce the impact of the opposing forces and strengthen the supporting forces.

1. Overview
We have developed the analytical tools that economists use when discussing policy options
and have discussed its likely impacts on the economy in theory.
In this assignment you take the role of the policy advisors, employed by government
departments or big corporations (your clients are therefore the government and its ministers
and big corporate organisations) to apply those skills and expertise knowledge accumulated
in this course so far.
As an expert’s role in the government /corporation decision making process, your task has
the following two objectives:
Analysis: Experts are responsible for analysing the economic scenario (depicting the likely
impact of the policy on the economy), using the specialised knowledge and the technical
expertise in the discipline.
Communication skills: Experts must communicate their finding and recommendations
effectively to the decision-makers in government – ministers, senior public servants – and
executives of corporations as an independent/third party observer.
This assignment is designed to help you develop the skills of critically interpreting and
analysing macroeconomic data and effectively communicating your findings to the targeted

There will be three parts to this assignment:
Part A: Diagnostics (macroeconomics data collection and interpretations)
Task: You apply knowledge to the macroeconomics data and present a diagnostic

Select an organization (business, not-for-profit, institution, etc.) and interview a senior executive (e.g. the Owner, CEO, CIO or other senior officer) about his or her company’s use of Information Systems.
Your goal is to write a case study of how they use information systems to better manage their enterprise to achieve their strategic or tactical objective.
You will need to select an organization and executive willing to be interviewed then do some research on his or her company. Then you will develop a list of questions for your interview. Then do the interview. Based on what you learn, you may want to do some additional research and analysis before writing your case study paper.
When you meet, you will want to learn something about their business. How do they use information systems in general? What has been their recent focus? What problems are they trying to solve and how have they gone about solving them? Are they happy with the results? What have they learned? What are their plans for the future?
Your case study should start with a summary of what the business is all about. It should then deal with how it uses information systems and it should end with your group’s observations and analysis. What are YOUR conclusions? Do you have any recommendations?
Your Group’s Paper:
Submit your written report (i.e. MS Word .doc file), in Blackboard, before the due date. The report should be double-spaced and use the following format:

Option Company Coles Product Flybuys Guiding Questions to ExplorePART 1: The Product Impact Explore the background information of the above product. Consider these questions: What is the product? Who developed it? What need/opportunity does it fill? Why was this product built? How is it used and by whom? When is it used? What situations is it used in? Explore the role of theory to help predict or explain the product’s impact on individuals. Consider these questions: What theory is chosen? What constructs of your chosen theory is useful to use in your analysis? How can your chosen theory help you to analyse the product’s impact on individuals?
- 4. Analyse the product’s impact on individuals. In your analysis include impacts or effects that occurred indirectly, unintentionally, or were delayed outcomes of the product. Consider these questions: Why is the product used? What impact does the product have (both positive and negative), and on who? How has the product been able to do what it does? Why has it become so successful? PART 2: Opportunity to Improve Explore ways to improve the product for individuals or for the case company. Consider these questions: Are there current or new technologies that could be integrated into the product to improve it in some way, how? Are there failings of the product that could be fixed, how? Are there benefits of the product that could be enhanced, how? Report Template (Required) ATTENTION: The following headings are a guide to help structure your report. Each section and heading is mandatory and must be included in your report, but you can break these down further.
