Assignment 2.2: Justification Report - Part 2
Due Week 5 and worth 150 points
In Part 1 of your Justification Report assignment, you built up the following sections: Problem Statement, Overview of Alternatives, Criteria, and Methods. In Part 2, you will revise Part 1 based on your instructor's suggestions and add to it the following sections: Evaluation of Alternatives, Findings and Analysis, and References.
Use the basic outline below to draft your paper. Organize your responses to each question under the following section headings:
· Evaluation of Alternatives (for Questions 1-3)
· Findings and Analysis (for Questions 4-5)
· References (for Question 6)
Write a two (2) page, single-spaced report in which you:
1. Research the two (2) alternatives (i.e. possible solutions) that you've identified in your Part 1 Evaluation of Alternatives section. Record bibliographic information during research.
a. Example: You might research other organizations that have attempted similar solutions to the problem you have identified and explore the results of those experiments.
2. Use what you discover in your research to evaluate each alternative by each of your five (5) criteria.
a. Example: If your research revealed that four companies similar to yours increased productivity after allowing their workers to telework from home three days per week, you might conclude that one of your suggested alternatives – in this case, the option to telework from home three days per week – satisfies one of your criterion of “Productivity” as a high-potential solution to a problem you’ve identified (of decreased worker morale and productivity at Doe’s Electronics). However, additional research might frustrate a recommendation of this alternative if it is found to fall short of other criteria while a second alternative fares better. For instance, a telework alternative might be found to be too costly to implement; too frustrating for consumers who prefer daily, in-person customer service; or too divergent from the company’s brand, “Always there for you!”
3. Organize the assignment by your criteria. Explain in narrative form how each of your two (2) alternatives stacks up against your first criterion. Next, explain how each alternative stacks up against your second criterion, etc.
a. Example: An abbreviated outline of what this longer section might look like based on the above example is below (Note: Only the first two [2] of five [5] required criteria are included to give you a feel for the structure). Your researched findings, represented as circled bullets below, should be explained in two to five (2-5) sentences. Include in-text citations and follow up with References in APA style):
Evaluation of Alternatives
· Productivity
a. Alternative A: Telework from home 3 days per week
a. {narrate findings based on research article 1 here}
a. Alternative B: Offer two extra Floating Holidays to each employee per year

Description of the problems
The two major workplace issues to be discussed in this paper include discrimination and safety within the workplace. Discrimination refers to a situation in which some employees within an organization are highly favoured in comparison to others. For instance, some organizations may favour particular group of people for each and every kind of leadership position at the extent of depriving others this chance even though they may be qualified for the position. Discrimination comes in various ways; in some scenarios it may be viewed from the point of using the organization’s resources whereby some employees may not be allowed to use some resources as a result of discrimination. The issue of discrimination needs to be addressed from the fact that an organization may end up losing potential employees as a result of discrimination. Discrimination is normally brought as a result of having a diversity of employees within a workplace. Currently, researches conducted in different organizations have shown that organizations with a higher diversity of employees will always have great ideas for creativity and also innovation. From the fact that discrimination results into loss of potential employees, this clearly shows that the level of creativity and innovation with as well decrease and therefore making this issue very sensitive and thus needs to be addressed (Acocella, 2007).
The second major problem that needs to be addressed is safety from the fact that organizations deal with various tools and equipment which may result into harmful implications on the employees. Safety may also be looked into in different angles; for instance there is the physical safety in which the employer should ensure each employee is protected against any risk that may end up resulting into harmful effects. Emotional safety is also important and the employee should ensure this by providing a stress free environment for working. Safety is a very important issue to be addressed from the fact that human life is very important. A human life once lost can never be retrieved since no one has the capability of giving another life. This makes this problem very necessary to be addressed.

Warrantless Searches and seizures
Under the Fourth Amendments, every search or seizure by a government agent must be reasonable. In general, searches and seizures are unreasonable and invalid unless based on probable cause and executed pursuant to a warrant. However, certain kinds of searches and seizures are valid as exceptions to the probable cause and warrant requirements, including investigatory stops, investigatory detentions of property, warrantless arrests, searches incident to a valid arrest, Seizures of items in plain view, Searches and seizures justified by exigent circumstances, consensual searches, searches of vehicles, searches of containers, inventory searches, border searches, searches at sea, administrative searches, and searches in which the special needs of law enforcement make probable cause and warrant requirements impracticable.
Three Essential Components of an arrest warrant or search warrant: It must be issued by a neutral and detached magistrate. A showing of probable causes is required. It must be conforming to the fourth amendment.
To obtain a warrant law official must need acceptable levels of probable cause to issue a warrant. There are two major types of warrants, Arrest warrants, and search warrants, but the two warrants are differing. To obtain an arrest warrant The arresting officer must have probable causes of a felony being committed or in the act of committing a felony. Search warrants is a legal document authorizing law officials to enter and search one’s premises. To obtain a search warrant the opposing law official must be searching for evidence to hold against an individual or individuals.
Search warrants require probable causes for items to be seized in connections of criminal activity, but must be done in a timely manner. The location to be searched must hold evidence that the Law official can use against the defendant for prosecution. If there is no probable cause in the location to be searched then evidence prove to have illegal search, it becomes subject to “exclusionary rule” and cannot be used on defended in court. An arrest warrant does not have the same requirements; the arresting officer must simply show probable cause that the offender has committed the crime by simply asking the question.

NUR 440 Peer Review Guidelines and Rubric
Overview: The purpose of peer review is to facilitate quality-nursing care through best practice discovered in evidence-based research. According to the
American Nurses Association, “peer review in nursing is the process by which practicing registered nurses systematically access, monitor, and make judgments
about the quality of nursing care provided by peers as measured against professional standards of practice. Peer review implies that the nursing care delivered
by a group of nurses or an individual nurse is evaluated by individuals of the same rank or standing according to established standards of practice.” Peer review
helps not only the author but the reviewer as well through the development of a critical eye which can then be applied to their own work.
Prompt
As the reviewer:
When you peer review another’s work, you will critically evaluate and suggest improvements. You will likely read the abstract once or twice before delving in with

review.
Peer Review Checklist:
x Aims and objectives: Is the purpose clearly stated?
x Background: Does the author offer background on the subject?
x Methods: Are the methods clearly stated? What type of method did the author use?
x Results: Are the results valid and reliable?
x Conclusions: Are the conclusions clearly stated and are they informed by the results?
x Relevance to clinical practice: Does the author state the relevancy to clinical practice?
x Articulation of response (e.g., citations, grammar, spelling, syntax, organization)
You will be evaluated on your peer reviews, not the abstract submitted, using the rubric below.
As the author of the abstract, remember the following:
x Read the review carefully, avoiding any desire to defend your choices.
x If you are unclear what the reviewer means, ask them to clarify.
x If you have any questions, feel free to pose them to the reviewer.
x Take special note of repeated commentary (e.g., grammar, citation, etc.) as this may signify an area for improvement.

Case Analysis Guidelines and Sample Format
Each week starting in week two, students will submit a case analysis that is a maximum of two
pages, with a reference page, (three total), double spaced, with citations and references that are
completed in APA format, using Times New Roman, 12 point font. For these activities, students
read and review all module objectives and materials, consume the information, and research the
internet to produce a case analysis. Each case analysis is directly related to the module learning
objectives (LOs). Once all of the module material is reviewed, find current (within the last six
months), scholarly internet sources, that directly relate to the case and module learning
objectives and conduct your case analysis. In-text citations serve to substantiate and validate your
statements.
If a source is not scholarly, it must be supported with other scholarly references. As an example;
information may be pulled from an article in the New York Times (not a scholarly source), which
will need a supported scholarly source that can be greater than six months but less than seven
years, in support of the information from the New York Times; such as the textbook. Please see
Table 1 below. Going beyond the text is highly encouraged and shows an understanding of
research and how to find valid and reliable sources.
These activities promote scholarly research targeting topics specific to the learning objectives.
They also require critical thinking throughout the entire case analysis process. Writing skills are
enhanced over the conduct of the course (work is graded weekly using APA formatting and the
Case Analysis Rubric) as you write two pages (with reference page) every week. The result is
improved writing, and research skills, which fulfils several Ignite Student learning outcomes
along the way. This process also provides a glimpse at the real world of organizational
operations.
Students are required to conduct three Peer Reviews (PR) on three of their peers CAs during the
course. Students will then defend their reviewed case analysis by responding to the PR from
another student. The PR process replicates the work environment in this way; when an employee
is given a task to complete and presents their position, their work is then reviewed by another co-
worker, supervisor, or company official who questions and, possibly, provides additional
alternatives. The peer reviewer of your CA is required to question and make comments on your
CA. You are required, to defend your CA by responding to the PR made by another student.
Your CA will be submitted to Turnitin, a plagiarism detection software, and again to the
discussion board for the PR and Response activities. The PR, and Response/Defense occurs in the
discussion bo.

Complete a systematic evaluation of a unit, facility, or organization with which you are familiar, in an attempt to identify the need to address the economic health care issue.
Introduction
Note: Each assessment in this course builds upon the work you have completed in previous assessments. Therefore, you must complete the assessments in the order in which they are presented.
As a master's-level health care practitioner, you may sometimes be tasked with the need to complete a systematic evaluation as a way of improving your organization’s outcomes. In this assessment, you will have a chance to practice these skills by completing a systematic evaluation of a unit, facility, or organization that you are familiar with in an attempt to identify the need to address the economic health care issue that you presented in the previous assessment. This systematic evaluation is often referred to as a needs analysis. Understanding how to do a needs analysis will be key as you advance through your career in the health care environment.
Background and Context
As a master's-level health care practitioner, you may sometimes be tasked with the need to complete a systematic evaluation as a way of improving your organization’s outcomes. In this assessment, you will have a chance to practice these skills by completing a systematic evaluation of a unit, facility, or organization that you are familiar with in an attempt to identify the need to address the economic health care issue that you presented in the previous assessment. This systematic evaluation is often referred to as a needs analysis. Understanding how to do a needs analysis will be key as you advance through your career in the health care environment.
Instructions
Be sure to address each main point. Review the assessment instructions and scoring guide, including performance-level descriptions for each criterion, to ensure you understand the work you will be asked to complete and how it will be assessed. In addition, note the requirements for document format and length and for supporting evidence.
Overall, you will be assessed on the following criteria:
· Summarize your chosen economic issue and its impact on your work, organization, colleagues, and community.
1. Reiterate your rationale for pursuing this issue, as well as the gap contributing to it that you identified in your previous assessment.
· Identify any socioeconomic or diversity disparities that exist with how your chosen economic issue impacts any particular groups or populations.
2. Use at least one piece of evidence to support this disparity (public health data, aggregated data from an organization, or other scholarly resources).
· Explain the findings of evidence-based or scholarly sources regarding the need to address your chosen issue and pursue potential change or implementation plans.
3. For example, if your implementati.

MBA540 Term Paper Directions:
Due by the end of Module 7
Term Paper: A final paper that focuses on the course content, applied in the setting of your current or
past employer, will be due in Module 7. In this paper you will focus on the following:
1. Provide a description of the company that you work for. As part of your description include a
discussion of the type of organizational structure.
2. Describe an agency problem within the firm and discuss what you think is causing the problem
and how the problem might be better controlled.
3. Describe the job dimensions of the firm and discuss whether or not you believe the current design
is appropriate for the firm. Discuss any suggestions you might have for improving the job design.
Grouped by function or by product or geography or a matrix organization? Provide a diagram if
helpful to illustrate. Is this organization effective?
4. Describe the compensation package for executives and employees within the firm. Discuss
whether or not you believe that the compensation package is effective and any suggestions that
you might have for improving the compensation package.
While these questions focus on the latter half of the course, you should remain mindful of the economic
concepts that were developed in the beginning of the course. An “A” paper will demonstrate a thorough
understanding of the relevant topics, completely discuss each of the four points of the paper, use
terminology appropriate to the topic, and use word choice, spelling, and sentence structure appropriate
for graduate-level work.
Specific Formatting Instructions
1. All assignments must be completed as Word documents. If you do not have Word you can
use Microsoft WordPad and use the rich text format (.rtf extension).
2. All assignments must be prepared in the APA format, including references.
3. Cover page. Use a single cover page that contains:
a. the title of the assignment
b. your name
4. Margins. All page margins should be the default margins for your word processing program.
Use only the LEFT margin justification setting.
5. Page numbering. Please use page numbering for all pages except the cover page.
6. Spacing/Font. All papers should be single-spaced only (this includes spacing between
paragraphs) and a 12 point font.
7. Direct quotes/ paraphrasing. Direct quotes and paraphrasing MUST be referenced and cited
using APA guidelines. Although there is no limit on how many citations are in the paper, I will
use limits of 15% for quotations and 25% for unoriginal wording for this course. When more
than one quarter of a paper seems to be unoriginal, it usually indicates a problem. Even if
sources are properly cited and some of the words are changed, it raises the question of how
much original thinking went into the paper. There is a big difference between starting with a
blank page and writing your own thoughts, and building the paper around ...
HRMD 650 Organizational DevelopmentHow to Solve an Organizati.docxpooleavelina
HRMD 650: Organizational Development
How to Solve an Organizational Case Study – Case 1
A case study is a collection of facts and data based on a real or hypothetical business situation. The goal of a case study is to enhance your ability to solve business problems, using a logical framework. The issues in a case are generally not unique to a specific person, firm, or industry, and they often deal with more than one business strategy element. Sometimes, the material presented in a case may be in conflict. For example, two managers may disagree about a strategy or there may be several interpretations of the same facts.
In all case studies, you must analyze what is presented and state which specific actions best resolve major issues. These actions must reflect the information in the case and the environment facing the firm.
The case should not exceed six (6) pages in length, excluding the reference list.
STEPS IN SOLVING A CASE STUDY
Your analysis should include these sequential steps:
1. Presentation of the facts surrounding the case. (~0.5 page)
2. Identification of the key issues. (~0.5 page)
3. Listing of alternative courses of action that could be taken. (~1 page)
4. Evaluation of alternative courses of action. (~1.5 pages)
5. Recommendation of the best course of action. (~1.5 pages)
Presentation of the Facts Surrounding the Case
It is helpful to read a case until you are comfortable with the information in it. Re-readings often are an aid to comprehending facts, possible strategies, or questions that need clarification and were not apparent earlier. In studying a case, assume you are an outside consultant hired by the firm. While facts should be accepted as true, statements, judgments, and decisions made by the individuals in a case should be questioned, especially if not supported by facts—or when one individual disagrees with another.
During your reading of the case, you should underline crucial facts, interpret figures and charts, critically review the comments made by individuals, judge the rationality of past and current decisions, and prepare questions whose answers would be useful in addressing the key issue(s).
Identification of the Key Issue(s)
The facts stated in a case often point to the key issue(s) facing an organization, such as new opportunities, a changing environment, a decline in competitive position, or excess inventories. Identify the characteristics and ramifications of the issue(s) and examine them, using the material in the case and the text. Sometimes, you must delve deeply because the key issue(s) and their characteristics may not be immediately obvious.
Listing Alternative Courses of Action That Could Be Taken
Next, present alternative actions pertaining to the key issue(s) in the case. Consider courses of action based on their suitability to the firm and situation. Proposed courses of action should take into account such factors as the goals, the customer market, the overall organiza ...

PART 1 OVERVIEWIn this project you are asked to conduct your own.docxsherni1
PART 1 OVERVIEW
In this project you are asked to conduct your own research into two variables that interest you. This project will give you an opportunity to apply the skills and techniques you learn in this class and to produce a professional report using appropriate technology. This is a MAJOR, on-going assignment and is worth 15% of your grade; the equivalent of one unit exam grade.
Your projects will be graded in stages (Part 1, Part 2, Part 3) according to the attached rubrics.
To be successful on your project you must:
· Read and follow instructions carefully.
· Work according to the timeline provided and submit work on time.
· 10% will be deducted for each calendar day the project is submitted after the due date. A project is considered “submitted” when it is available for the professor to view on Canvas. No credit is given after 5 days late.
· Students who fail to submit earlier parts of the project may still submit later parts of the project as long as their topic has been approved by their instructor and as long as they collect their own data. Points will still be taken away for lack of completeness unless those prior sections are completed and included.
· Write clearly, using appropriate terminology and accurate mathematical notation. College-level writing is expected, as is the use of correct grammar.
· If you need help with writing, feel free to use the HCC Writing Center: For further information, see the HCC Web page under the heading “Writing Center” or call the Writing Center at (443) 518-4101. PGCC students at the Laurel College Center should see the PGCC Writing Center for assistance.
· Submit a neat, professional report typed using your choice of word processing software (including a mathematical notation package) and including printouts and diagrams from your choice of statistical software/technology.
· In particular, embedded graphs or charts and/or computer printouts will be expected as part of the report. Hand-drawn graphs are not acceptable.
· Please note: Excel should be used only with caution as it does not consistently follow accepted statistical practices.
· Original work is expected. This means that students who are repeating the course are expected to create an entirely new project using two new variables of interest.
· For example, you might watch a YouTube video on how to use StatCrunch or have a peer show you how to create a histogram using a different data set (not the one in your project), then try it yourself with your data set. You might consult your textbook or your instructor about a concept, but then put the explanation into your own words.
· Getting Help:
· For this project, you may consult any resource for general help and advice (including your instructor, tutors (LAC, HR230), classmates, or the internet) provided that your write-up (computations, explanations, and embedded diagrams) are your own work.
· Submission guidelines:
· You should submit your project via the Canvas link as a PDF or Word.

Case Analysis Guidelines by: Dr. Dave Worrells and Mr. Scott Burgess| ERAU, College of Aeronautics 1
ASCI 357 – Flight Physiology
In-text citations serve to substantiate and validate your
statements.
If a source is not scholarly, it must be supported with other scholarly references. As an example;
information may be pulled from an article in the New York Times (not a scholarly source), which
will need a supported scholarly source that can be greater than six months but less than seven
years, in support of the information from the New York Times; such as the textbook. Please see
Table 1 below.

Information concerning child abuse, and/or elder or dependent adult abuse, including documentation as to where the abuse was reported
Information reflecting the therapist’s exercise of clinical judgment
Part 2: Privileged Note
Based on this week’s readings, prepare a privileged psychotherapy note that you would use to document your impressions of therapeutic progress/therapy sessions for your client from the Week 3 Practicum Assignment.
The privileged note should include items that you would not typically include in a note as part of the clinical record.
Explain why the items you included in the privileged note would not be included in the client’s progress note.
Explain whether your preceptor uses privileged notes, and if so, describe the type of information he or she might include. If not, explain why.

Part 1: Art selection
·
· These are the work of the arts from the ancients to modern art. The reason for the selection of this theme of the art is the association of the ideas behind the sculptures is the religion. Like in the first one is the sculpture of the Ares, who was the God of Greece, he was considered to be the God of war. This sculpture was made by the Scopas who was the ancient Greek sculpture. The second work of art is Moses which was for the Tomb of Pope II, which was made by Michelangelo who made this piece of art in the early 16th century (1506). The third piece of art is also related to the religion, in which the wall depicts the Biblical figures, this was made by Claus Sluter, who was the artist from the Dutch origin.
The most engaging part of these arts is the religious depiction which evolved through the times. From Ares to Jesus in the arts.
· The common theme is the religious personalities of the times in which they were made.
· It is important to vary the themes through the times, as it describes the artistic preferences of the people, and how this had been addressed by the artists.

Part 1 Post a ResponseVarious reform groups with various causes.docxsherni1
Part 1: Post a Response
Various reform groups with various causes developed in the US in the late 1800s and early 1900s; these are loosely called “Progressives” as they aimed to use government policies or science to improve and advance society. Also, this period was a time when the US started as a major player in international conflicts—first in the “Spanish American War and then in World War I. There were deep isolationist sentiments about such overseas entanglements, and President Wilson first has one position and then the other.
Choose and discuss (in a full paragraph or two) one of the following two topics related to the late 1800s and early 1900s.
In the Progressive Era (roughly 1890–1920), multiple groups advocated for reforms in various aspects of government, society, and the economy. Discuss here the “muckrakers” and Taylor’s “scientific management”.
Explain briefly the approach and aim of the “muckrakers” and that of F. W. Taylor.
Compare their approaches and describe your feelings about them, and relate some modern situation that reminds you of one of these approaches and reform causes.
Identify the source(s) where you read about the reform cause.
From the text, Wilson did not maintain his own campaign slogan (“He kept us out of war”).
Explain with some specifics why Wilson became pro-war. Describe your own feelings on that issue when you look back at it, and whether he was right to change.
Briefly, identify a similar international consideration today—or of the last 20 years, and what lesson might be drawn from the example in Wilson’s time.
Identify the source(s) where you read about Wilson.
Part 2: Respond to a Peer
Read a post by one of your peers and respond, making sure to extend the conversation by asking questions, offering rich ideas, or sharing personal connections.

What areas of communication do AAC assessments address?
How do assessment results inform AAC strategies/techniques?
Identify AAC assessments used within your school or district and explain when each assessment would most appropriately be used.
Support your assessment summary with 1-3 scholarly resources.
Part 2: Case Studies
Read the following case studies to inform Part 2 of the assignment.
Case Study 1: Mandy
Mandy is a 3-year-old preschool student who has been diagnosed with ASD and is nonverbal. She is sensitive to loud noises and certain textures. She was recently referred to a child study team by the family physician. Her family doctor described her as having low muscle tone, delayed communication, and delayed motor skills. She uses her behavior and physicality for communicating needs. Mandy does point and reach for desired items, but she has not been able to reproduce any signs, despite her parents' attempts to teach her sign language for the past year. She often appears to be disengaged when playing or when her parents are encouraging her to sign. Her eye contact is minimal, tantrums are common, crying happens daily, and change is very difficult for her.
Case Study 2: Wilson
Wilson is an 11-year-old boy who was diagnosed with ASD as a toddler. He is physically healthy, but he is very sensitive to hot, cold, noises, and pain. He does not like crowds or lines and struggles with class assemblies, lunch time periods, and recesses. He is in a self-contained special education classroom on a public school campus and attends general education class for music only. He is capable of doing some general education class work, but his behavior is far too unpredictable to make further placement in a general education classroom feasible at this time. He can be impulsive and destructive when frustrated or overwhelmed. He is quite social and enjoys interacting with his peers in both settings; however, it can be difficult to discern when he will have a meltdown. He has tantrums and destroys property, and his participation in some aspects of school is limited. When changes in the schedule occur, such as school assemblies or fire drills, Wilson has a hard time adjusting and oftentimes tips over desks or kicks. He has not been able to attend the last two field trips due to his parents’ concerns for his safety.
Case Study 3: Cole
Cole is a 16-year-old boy with ASD and cognitive delays. He was born three weeks premature and required intensive neonatal care for six weeks after birth, but he is currently in good health. He passed all hearing and vision screenings. Cole uses gestures and a few verbal words to express his needs and wants; for example yes/no and hungry. He uses a few sign language gestures and some picture symbols, but mostly relies on a communication device in order to communicate with teachers, peers, and parents.

During the Reconstruction Era, the Southern states created many laws and policies of their own. These “Black Codes” either tried to minimize federal laws and policies or were in retaliation to them.
Suppose you were a former slave during this era, which one of the following restrictions would you find the most offensive?
Restrictions or prohibitions on voting
Restrictions such as those on job, land purchase, and mobility
Inability to serve on juries or accuse a white person in court
Then, in a full paragraph or two:
Discuss the immediate and long-term consequences from your chosen restriction.
Identify any lessons we can learn today from this restriction and its impact.
Identify the source(s) where you read about the restriction.

The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.
June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202

1. Research the two (2) alternatives (i.e. possible solutions) that
you've identified in your Part 1 Evaluation of Alternatives
section. Record bibliographic information during research.
a. Example: You might research other organizations that have
attempted similar solutions to the problem you have identified
and explore the results of those experiments.
2. Use what you discover in your research to evaluate each
alternative by each of your five (5) criteria.
a. Example: If your research revealed that four companies
2. similar to yours increased productivity after allowing their
workers to telework from home three days per week, you might
conclude that one of your suggested alternatives – in this case,
the option to telework from home three days per week –
satisfies one of your criterion of “Productivity” as a high-
potential solution to a problem you’ve identified (of decreased
worker morale and productivity at Doe’s Electronics). However,
additional research might frustrate a recommendation of this
alternative if it is found to fall short of other criteria while a
second alternative fares better. For instance, a telework
alternative might be found to be too costly to implement; too
frustrating for consumers who prefer daily, in-person customer
service; or too divergent from the company’s brand, “Always
there for you!”
3. Organize the assignment by your criteria. Explain in narrative
form how each of your two (2) alternatives stacks up against
your first criterion. Next, explain how each alternative stacks up
against your second criterion, etc.
a. Example: An abbreviated outline of what this longer section
might look like based on the above example is below (Note:
Only the first two [2] of five [5] required criteria are included
to give you a feel for the structure). Your researched findings,
represented as circled bullets below, should be explained in two
to five (2-5) sentences. Include in-text citations and follow up
with References in APA style):

a. Include an APA style (6th edition) References page that
documents the two (2) sources (minimum) that you used and
cited in-text in your Evaluation of Alternatives section. Note
that both resources may be secondary resources, or you may
include one primary source and one secondary source.
Remember that both in-text citations and References must be
included (to avoid plagiarism) whenever you are directly
quoting, summarizing, or paraphrasing researched material.
Your assignment must:
· Be typed, single spaced, using Times New Roman font (size
12), with one-inch margins on all sides; citations and references
must follow APA or school-specific format. Check with your
professor for any additional instructions.
· Include a cover page containing the title of the assignment,
your name, the professor’s name, the course title, and the
date. The cover page and the reference page are not included in
the required assignment page length.
5. The specific course learning outcomes associated with this
assignment are:
· Support ideas or claims in body paragraphs with clear details,
examples, and explanations.
· Organize ideas logically by using transitional words, phrases,
and sentences.
· Use sentence variety and effective word choice in written
communication.
· Apply writing process strategies to develop formal business
reports and / or proposals.

Description of the problems
The two major workplace issues to be discussed in this paper
include discrimination and safety within the workplace.
Discrimination refers to a situation in which some employees
within an organization are highly favoured in comparison to
others. For instance, some organizations may favour particular
group of people for each and every kind of leadership position
at the extent of depriving others this chance even though they
may be qualified for the position. Discrimination comes in
various ways; in some scenarios it may be viewed from the
point of using the organization’s resources whereby some
employees may not be allowed to use some resources as a result
of discrimination. The issue of discrimination needs to be
addressed from the fact that an organization may end up losing
potential employees as a result of discrimination.
Discrimination is normally brought as a result of having a
diversity of employees within a workplace. Currently,
researches conducted in different organizations have shown that
organizations with a higher diversity of employees will always
have great ideas for creativity and also innovation. From the
fact that discrimination results into loss of potential employees,
this clearly shows that the level of creativity and innovation
with as well decrease and therefore making this issue very
sensitive and thus needs to be addressed (Acocella, 2007).
7. The second major problem that needs to be addressed is safety
from the fact that organizations deal with various tools and
equipment which may result into harmful implications on the
employees. Safety may also be looked into in different angles;
for instance there is the physical safety in which the employer
should ensure each employee is protected against any risk that
may end up resulting into harmful effects. Emotional safety is
also important and the employee should ensure this by
providing a stress free environment for working. Safety is a
very important issue to be addressed from the fact that human
life is very important. A human life once lost can never be
retrieved since no one has the capability of giving another life.
This makes this problem very necessary to be addressed.
Solution
s for the problems to be implemented
Strategies need to be implemented to address the issues above.
For the case of discrimination, various steps need to be applied
to make sure the problem is addressed. The employers needs to
sit and discuss deeply with an experienced business attorney
who will help in the formulation of discrimination policies for
the workplace. The policies should be in line with the
discrimination laws for best results. It is from this place that the
employer can engage the managers for the purpose of reviewing
the discrimination policy manual. Employees should then be
engaged after which they should undergo training concerning
discrimination in workplaces. Having the employees working
8. together and also performing tasks together may as well be a
way of eliminating discrimination. There should also be a
channel for reporting those found engaging in discrimination.
With all this in place, discrimination should be a forgotten issue
within a workplace.
To ensure safety in a workplace, the employer needs to assess
the risks in which the employees are exposed to. Safety policies
and procedures need to be formulated in accordance to the risks
associated with the workplace. A plan for action in case of any
emergency should also be created to ensure that the
organization can act responsibly and save lives when they take
place. Outsiders should also be monitored closely to eliminate
any form of unwanted activities regarding to safety they may
bring. Lastly, open communication should be encouraged to
ensure all employees are able communicate in case of detection
of unordinary activities that may tamper with their safety.
5 criteria used to measure the worth of each alternative
mentioned above
The first criterion is referred to as importance to measure and
also to report. The criteria stipulates that there should be an
evidence that clearly offers support the solutions are actually
working. For instance, the health outcome should clearly show
that there is safety health measures within the workplace.
The next criterion involves scientific acceptability of all the
alternatives given above. There should be a scientific evidence
9. that shows the methods designed above are able to offer best
solutions for the two problems within the workplace. Scientific
evidences are normally obtained from a number of statistical
observations through experiments and surveys after which the
analyses are given. It is from this analyses we obtain
conclusions concerning the alternatives designed to curb all the
problems experienced within this organization (Wood, 2004).
The third criterions that can be used to determine the worth of
the alternatives stated above is known as feasibility which is
defined as the extent to which the alternatives stated above can
be implemented and produce a positive performance
measurement in case the alternatives are reviewed under
performance management. In case this goes positive with the
performance of the organization, the worth is therefore
determined.
The fourth criterion is based on usability and use which refers
to that potential extent in which various people within the
workplace can certify that the alternatives are worth. In this
case, employees as well as the customers of the organization
should acknowledge that the alternatives stipulated have been
able to curb those two problems.
The last criterion is based on their comparison to competing
factors. The related or competing measures The alternatives
provided in this case should be better than their competing
factors; in others words, they should have a competing
10. advantage against other competing measures (Stone, 2005).
How to conduct the research needed to determine the
recommended alternative to the employee
To come up with the best research, surveys and experiments and
also observations need to be conducted on various organizations
of the same calibre. With this, enough data will be available to
come up with a conclusion on the best alternatives that the
employer may use for the entire organization.
