As Asst. Manager Mechanical maintenance in reductionarea (Pot room).Technology used is AP-36.
Responsibilities and accountabilities:
 Responsible for planning and executing preventive, predictive and shutdown maintenance of ground and overhead pot
room equipments including hydraulic, pneumatic, static and rotary equipment’s, to ensure the performance of
equipment is as per target and production goals.
 Review condition monitoring data collected by CBM staff on day to day basis and ensures reporting of abnormalities &
compliance to the recommendations. Ensure proper functioning of all RMC assets, other condition monitoring related
tools & equipment. To ensure continuous reliability improvement of rotating machinery. Investigating rotating equipment
failures and preparation of Failure Analysis Reports.
 To follow the TPM guidelines. Timely delivery of the equipment to the operation department, to maintain the quality of
equipment and developing the manpow er by proper technicalmaintenance training and HSE trainings to facilitate the
maintenance requirements.
 Plays a lead role in in-home POV, cold, hot commissioning of overhead special overhead cranes .In house
Modifications of equipments design by engineering applications & review the HSE impact of change to improve the

2.  Monitor the Spare parts inventory in store, spare requisition preparation and and co-ordinate w ith purchase for the
purchase orders and ordered parts in order the ensure the availability of spares and to minimize the unplanned
dow ntime due to unavailability of spares.
 MIS report generation for availability and breakdow ns(MTTR,MTBF) of equipments, root cause Analysis(RCA) of major
failures of equipment’s and developing engineering solutions to major and repetitive failures to increase the reliability of
equipment. Identifying the areas w here improvements or modifications can be done to improve the reliability.
 Preparation and revision of SMP’s of the activities.
 Analysis of repetitive breakdowns data analysis and find the root cause and give engineering solution to the problem.
 To develop the new methods or solution to the breakdow nsin order to follow the guidelines of WMS.
 Ensure w ork permit, Isolation (LOTO) and job safety analysis is done before starting any maintenance or repair activity.

Responsibilities and accountabilities:-
 To maintain the safe working on site as per Rio Tinto HSEQMS standards. To ensure the HSE training to all
w orkmen. To make the w orkpermit and Job safety analysis before starting the Job (installation, repair,
modifications).Involved in preparation of Height rescue plan and w as a member of height rescue team. Involved in
preparation of Emergency rescue plan in case of disaster or emergency. Involves in preparation of risk assessment
plan for the BALCO site w ith RIOTINTO HSE team.
 Hands on experience of installation ,commissioning and repair of Industrial Hydraulics and Pneumatics circuits,
hydraulic pumps, pneumatic rotary compressors,hoists,gearboxes, crane wheels, Crane girders and other tools of
specialcrane used in Aluminium smelters( e.g. PTM Pot tending machine,FTA Fume treatment assembly and other
equipments)
 To do the Quality inspection of the material at reception of material if it is conforming the design and quality, to make
the NCR (non conformance report) and follow-up. To checkthe process of assembly assembled machines tolerances
