Week Beginning Work Completed
Summer Holidays During the summer holidays, I annotated and completed my research
on my music magazine of inspiration.
Monday 9th September This week I learnt about conventions, how to create the perfect
magazine cover, double page spread and contents page using positive
and negative aspects from past exemplar work. Also, I managed to
create a blog page.
Monday 16th September This week I completed writing about the Maslow hierarchy, Hartley’s
seven subjectivities and Katz uses and gratification theory.
Monday 23rd September I have completed my survey and received 14 responses. However, I
need to complete the questionnaire and the target audience data sheet

2. on the PowerPoint.
I have learnt about Photoshop in more depth, such as how to increase
the size of an image and how to take an image from the internet and
post it towards Photoshop. Therefore, I have started my preliminary
task in which I completed the masthead, barcode.
Monday 30th September This week I went to the Photoshop academy class, which was
instructed by Tony Harmer to expand my knowledge on the use of
Photoshop. Also, I completed placing my logo’s, main image, strapline
and headline for the preliminary magazine. Next week I need to finish
off my cover lines. Also, I will work more on completing my blog page.
Monday 7th October This lesson I finished my front cover, completing all the conventions on
my checklist.
Monday 14th October In this lesson I created text boxes for my contents page and earlier in
the week I managed to completely finish my content hand drawn draft
front cover. Next week I plan to work on my editorial information.
Also, I need to complete my conventions for my front cover preliminary
magazine.
Monday 21st October This week I managed to use the pen tool to structure my editorial
summary. Also, I managed to find out easier ways to copy an image
from a document to another, (alt+drag with mouse). Also, I posted an
image of myself for my contents page. Next I need to structure the
editorial information and make sure I finish my cover lines. I still need
to structure my cover-lines and paste my signature into the contents
page. Also, I need to post a picture for my contents page and replace
the picture for my front cover. Today I managed to save my signature

3. and paste my cover lines. I will come back in my own time to finish my
conventions.
Half Term
Monday 4th November I successfully completed my PowerPoint, Preliminary front cover and
contents page at my own time.
Monday 11th November Today I completed 6 conventions one of which was the barcode, social
networking links and my competition puff. Next I need to add more
conventions and change my font. This lesson I finished off my
masthead, strapline and headline. Next lesson I need to make a few
changes to my background color and maybe the masthead. Next lesson
I also need to take pictures of my participants for the front cover. The
progress is going very well as I have finished most of my conventions in
a small amount of time.
Monday 18th November In this lesson I finished off one of my cover lines and took pictures of
my main image. Next lesson I need add more pictures and create more
cover lines. Today I learnt about image capture and used it to transport
images from my phone to the front cover. I need to complete my main
image and add two more cover-lines along with the thumbnails. I will
stay after school to completely finish off the work and meet todays
deadline (Friday 22nd November).
This lesson I completed my main task portfolio and now I must apply
that to Photoshop. I also need to structure things in order using the
ruler tool, add my signature and copy my masthead and other features

4. from my previous preliminary and main task covers. I will stay after
school to go through my front cover and if I have time left, go over my
contents page.
Monday 25th November This week I managed to create my sun heading as well as the sub line. I
created my masthead and took pictures for my editorial. I also used the
ruler tool effectively to indicate where everything should be placed.
Next I need to focus more on my editorial.
Monday 2nd December I have started my contents page and need to complete more
conventions.
Monday 9th December I have started ad more images to the contents page and I have been
developing my cover stories.
Monday 16th December I have now finished my contents page and will do adjustments later on
in time to achieve a high grade.
Christmas Holidays
January 6th I have finished my double page spread hand drawn draft and I have
started the double page spread main task. Next I need to add my
images and complete crucial conventions.
January 13th I have completed writing up my interview on Photoshop using the pen
tool and creating a box for my drop capital, next I need to focus on
picture manipulation. It is not neat at the moment so I need to take a lot
of time making sure it’s up to a perfect standard.

5. January 20th I need to add an image to my work and I need to place the rest of my
questions and answers in. To be honest, the double page spread is
vague so I need to vague.
January 27th Today, I managed to take pictures of my model for the double page
spread.
I also finished writing up a thorough interview
Next I need to integrate the pictures taken and the written up interview
together
February 3rd I have now finished the double-page spread up to an A grade standard
in my opinion.
In today’s lesson I used a crack tool to make my work look up to this
really good standard, therefore in this lesson I have learnt the
importance of using paintbrush tools.
February 10th This week I have started correcting my work for the double page
spread.
February 24th I am aiming to finish my blog page as soon as possible so I have started
working on it.
Also, I have been working on my log book to improve its standard
March 3rd I have been finishing off my production log and I added secondary data
to my production log for my music magazine genre successfully.
I started questions 1-4 for my evaluation
Next I need to add more detail to my survey monkey and send it out.

6. March 10th I have completed all my evaluation questions and now I need to just
put them on a word document so I can check for error in grammar and
spelling, then afterwards I will place them in PowerPoint.
Also need to sort out my survey monkey
March 17th I have now finished placing my evaluation; all I need to do is add
images from my magazine to support what I wrote about.
I also need to send out my survey monkey results
March 24th I have completed most of my logbook production and also I managed to
add thorough detail to the blog page.
I just need to send out my survey monkey results
Completely finish my logbook.
