2. Career History:
General Assistant – WGPSN – BP Sullom Voe Terminal. June 2014 – Sept 2014
Responsible for General assistant duties on site, which include Confined Space Entry
Attendant, Firewatcher and working in confined spaces. This role encompasses working
with all trades including welders, pipefitters, platers, electricians, riggers and civils.
Through understanding of the Permit to Work system and carrying out Tool Box Talks
and Dynamic risk reviews. Carry out briefings on permits to the workforce and identify
hazards and risks in order to keep the team safe. Safety is given the highest priority
within all work activities.
Lead Security Guard - Sodexo Prestige. April 2013 – June 2014
My main aim is to keep the occupants of the various barges used to house several
hundred personnel safe at all times. This is achieved by conducting random patrols,
random bag searches, staying on constant alert and looking for any potential dangers to
the customers and general public in the surrounding area such as intruders, thieves,
potential terrorists and bomb threats. Report writing and logging down patrols, incidents,
monitoring CCTV equipment and access control in and off the barge is essential in
auditing the movement of all personnel and ensures the smooth operation of the whole
security spectrum.
Key Achievement: - Being promoted to lead security guard which involves greater
responsibility and leadership qualities to manage a small team of security operatives.
Door Supervisor – Pathfinder security services and Various Agencies. Nov 2010 to
Present.
Working in a major city providing security for pubs and clubs. Duties included: -
Managing crowds and checking patrons for relevant ID. Patrolling inside and outside the
venue to identify inappropriate behaviour, restraining and escorting unruly people from
the premises, dealing with emergencies, upholding club and venue drugs, fire and safety
policies. Supervising people as they leave the building, co-operating with the emergency
services to resolve situations and keeping in contact with control and other team
members through radio equipment.
Key Achievement: - Controlling a very serious assault incident where a member of the
public was seriously injured. Carried out first responder duties, managed the scene and
informed the emergency services.
London Olympics 2012 - Close Protection UK Ltd. Mar – Aug 2012.
Undertook security and fire risk assessor duties within the athletes and workers villagers.
Responsible for security duties at all the major London Olympic venues including the
Olympic Stadium. Also carried out the duties of fire risk assessor which included taking
appropriate and effective action if a fire occurred, ensuring that escape routes were
available for use, identifying hazards in the workplace and recording and reporting the
observations.
