PROFILE
An experienced and highly motivated security services manager, with a keen eye for detail, I am able to
prioritise and can work on my own initiative or as well as part of a team. I have over 25 years’ operational
experience, specialising in the manned guarding sector. I have worked at all levels from security officer to
operational support manager, and have been responsible for all aspects of a portfolio containing 18 sites. Until
recent redundancy on October 10th
2014, I was responsible as the Security Manager/Deputy Soft Services
Manager, in a 2500 person call centre, and additionally, a critical technical switch site containing assets and
business in excess of £3 billion for a global telecommunications company. My skills, knowledge and experience
allowed me to gain a reputation as the “go-to“ person should a situation arise when a process or procedure
required to be implemented on the contract, often at National Level. Highly proficient in IT related tasks, in
particular Microsoft Office suite of applications.

KEY ACHIEVEMENTS
Recently responsible for overseeing the installation and implementation of an upgraded automated
access control system. Tasks included designing badge templates, configuring and designing access
levels, creating initial 2000 person database and general oversight of the installation process.
Assisted with the business achieving accreditation to ISO standards 9001, 18001 and 27001. Tasks
included evidence gathering, audit assistance and working with other departments to ensure that site
standards were compliant.
Deputising for the Service Delivery Manager (Scotland and North-East) in his absence, as POC and first
escalation point. Tasks include oversight of general operations, receiving calls etc and
prioritising/escalating where appropriate.

Site Security Manager October 1988 - October 2014

Responsible for the management and performance of a team of 10 highly skilled and
developed corporate security officers, providing manned guarding, reception, CCTV surveillance,
access control and incident command support to a global outsourcing company.
Provide line management responsibility to security officers including all aspects of disciplinary,
grievance and welfare issues under the guidance of the Human Resources Manager
Ensure that regular client contact is maintained by client meetings and that working relationships are
forged to ensure customer focus is paramount
Ensure Assignment Instructions & Risk Assessments are reviewed and issued annually
Ensure that all Company policies and procedures are adhered to at all times
Overall responsibility for the up keep of security equipment and reporting of faults
Deputised in the absence of the Service Delivery Manager acting as the point of contact for all matters
associated with the contract delivery.
Incident control manager in the absence of the Service Delivery Manager, implementing tried and
tested business continuity plans to control, command and recover an area in the event of a major
incident.

Included in my time with G4S was a term as Operational Support Manager in 2001, where I was
responsible for all aspects of a site portfolio containing 19 sites in and around the Glasgow area. In

targets were met.
