As an articulate, positive and hard working person, achieving the highest standards possible I have a

I have held a number of roles including the Staff officer to the Assistant Chief Constable. As his
personal assistant, I provided research for his portfolio which included the Counter Terrorism
Command for the South East of England, producing reports and articles in a clear, concise manner.
During the role, I was privy to sensitive and personal information which I treated with the utmost of
confidence.
As a Critical Incident Inspector, I was responsible for ensuring correct actions were taken at serious
crimes and make sure incidents were dealt with in accordance with current national guidance. I
managed over 40 officers ensuring the highest level of police response was achieved, prioritising the
demand profile making certain the incidents were policed appropriately and the welfare needs were
met for my staff. I was the senior duty police commander covering a large urban area. Responsible for
the governance of wide-ranging policing powers, including the authority to detain persons and
searching premises. As part of a cadre of 5 Inspectors providing 24hr, seven days a week cover, I
ensured the shift handover was completed and appropriate actions were recorded and actioned. I was
responsible for ensuring officers were compliant with the force and national policies, correcting
failures, highlighting good practice and developing methods for improvement. As a Detective
Inspector within a busy city centre, I was responsible for the supervision of a crime investigation team
based at Southend, ensuring crimes were investigated thoroughly and efficiently. I was the Senior
Investigating Officer for a variety of crimes ranging from bulk thefts to serious assaults and sexual

I worked in a variety of roles significantly as an Investigator on the Major Crime Team. I am a
nationally accredited detective, specialising as a Family Liaison Officer, working on murder
investigations, also involved in the investigation of a multi-casualty plane crash. I have carried a
demanding investigation workload, balancing and prioritising the investigations. I was the commander
of a specialist team, used for drug searches, dynamic entry of addresses and public order incidents. I
was a frontline response officer working a 24-hour shift pattern responding to calls ranging from
incidents where life was at risk to routine administrative calls. Gathering evidence and making
decisions within current protocols and criminal law. As a front line police officer, I was regularly in a
hostile and threatening environment. Using excellent communication skills I defused many volatile
situations, however, I am trained in unarmed defensive techniques which were used in a controlled
and effective manner.
