1. PMKVY Scheme of Indian Government
The Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) is the flagship scheme of the
Government of India performed through National Skills Development
Corporation(NSDC) under the Ministry of Skill Development and
Entrepreneurship(MSDE).
What is the PMKVY scheme about?
The main objective of PMKVY scheme is to encourage skill development for the
youth by providing financial rewards for successful completion of certified
training programs. Specifically, the scheme aims to promote standardization in
the certification process and initiate a process of creating a registry of skills.
Enable and mobilize for youth to take up skill training and become employable
and earn their livelihood. Increase productivity of the existing workforce and join
the training and certification to needs of the country.
Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana
On the first anniversary of the scheme launch, the Union Cabinet approved an
outlay of Rs 12,000 crore to give skills training to one crore people over the next
four years.
According to the government, throughout 18 lakh candidates have been
registered and 17.93 lakh trained till July 18, 2016, under the scheme. It further
says that the number of youths candidates trained and certified under the PM
Kaushal Vikas Yojana are 2,37,067 and 1,48,351.
The National Skills Development Corporation(NSDC) is continuing to set up 50
India International Skill Centres in our country at the end of 2016. The centers will
2. provide training to health care workers, retail, security, tourism, hospitality,
capital goods, auto, construction and domestic workers.
From the last two years, through “Standard Training Assessment & Reward
Scheme” (STAR) and PMKVY, ASTM has trained and certified more than the 14500
candidates with decent placement record.
Benefits of Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana
1. The objective is to train 24 lakh youth and the estimated training cost of RS
1,500 crores.
2. Increasing the productivity of the skilled people which used for nation
development.
3. To create a registry of skills.
4. On an average trainee will get Rs. 8000 as a reward. Third party assessment
body provides this rewards. However, to receive the reward, the trainee will have
to appear for assessment test and based on the test results; a reward should give
to them. The Reward money directly credited to the bank account of the
candidate.
3. 5. To cross-check whether the applicant has already paid Rs. 8, 000 rewards, use
the Aadhar number. So that is why Aadhar number is the must for receiving the
compensation(Reward).
6. Training would be provided based on the National Skill Qualification Framework
(NSQF) and industry-led standards, and it
would be a need based training.
7. Most of the skills do not require any educational qualification or experience.
8. Feedback should collect by all the trainees who undergo assessment. It will
help in calculating the effectiveness of Kaushal Vikas Scheme.
