2. Child life
Born June 1st 1265 in Florence.
He is the son in a prominent family in Florence.
His mother dies 1271.
Father remarries after a year and has two children.
Father dies in 1276.
3. Marriage
He was married in 1277 to Gemma Donati and had four children
named Jacopo, Pietro, Giovanni, and Antonia.
4. Military life
Dante became a cavalryman in the Battle of Campaldino and the
Guelf League defeats the Ghibellines of Arezzo.
5. Starts writing
Dante details the battle of Campaldino in Purgatorio
Then writes the Vita Nuova
Dante meets the King of Hungary then details the meeting in.
6. Furthering career
Dante became both a doctor and a pharmacist then joins the guild
of the apothecaries.
He then enters the public life in Florence
Afterwards he becomes one of the six highest magistrates in
Florence.
7. To Rome
Dante is sent to Rome as an envoy to Pope Boniface VIII.
After the Black Guelfs seize power Dante was condemned to exile
for two years and was also ordered to pay large sum of money.
He was also completely excluded from office forever now.
8. Beginning his life work.
Dante started work on the Divine Comedy which was divided into
three parts
Dante’s inferno
Purgatory
Paradiso
9. Other works
He completed De vulgari eloquentia
Convivo
Questio de acque et terra
10. Death
Dante died after falling ill on September 13 or 14.
