Manipulation
This edited image is similar to the image of Beyoncé as it is a profile image looking straight
into the camera. Similarly the hair is brushed over the shoulder to the same side of the neck.
Both images show the face and shoulders. The square shoulders show a dominance and
power, the represents female independence which is also represented in my magazine.
Also the direct address by the eye contact with the lens also shows a side of female
empowerment and confidence.
There is a use of high key lighting in both images.
This represents woman in a positive light. The lightest
areas of the images are both on the left side of this
face; this shows symmetry and precise image
manipulation.
There is clear use of rule of thirds as all frames of the
image are occupied by the model. This is roughly the
same on the image of Beyoncé, however as in the
professional image, Beyoncé is more zoomed out
than in the image of the model, it would be easier to
say that the rule of thirds is used to a better balance
in the image of the model for my project.
