1. Annie Leibovitz In 1970 Annie Leibovitz got a job for rolling stone and then
became chief photographer. In 1983 she started working for
vanity fair, an entertainment magazine. Continuing to take
photos that would be seen as iconic and provocative.

The lighting in this photo is studio lighting, this means that the photographer
can control the lighting and make it as light or dark as they likes. The framing
for this photo is typical for a portrait photo because the photo isn’t taken from
a low or high angle it is just a face on, this works for portrait photos because
they don’t tend to have anything important in the background and the aim is
to focus on the subject. The subjects face is in the centre of the photo so it’s
the main focus, this is helped by the plain background.
5. Image 2
The subject is on the right of the photo which is strange for a portrait photograph because most portrait photos
have the subject in the centre as so you focus on the subject. The framing of this photo is effective because it
shows the subject but also a lot of the background even though the background isn’t in focus, this is because the
photographer used a shallow focus to. The use of a fast shutter speed is effective because it makes the
background blurry but the subject in focus, this helps you focus on the subject. The use of a fast shutter speed
makes sure that the subject is in focus. The angle of the photo is like most portrait photos because its just a face
on photo. The lighting of this photo is natural lighting from the sun because they are out side, this is hard to see
because the photo is in black and white.
7. Image 3
This image is different because it has the same person twice this must have been edited. The face on
the lest is a bit closer to the camera than the one on the left, this could suggest that the on the left
is more powerful, this also ties into the rule of thirds because the faces are on this image are on
ether side which is unusual but could mean that the photographer wants you to focus on both of
the subjects. The use of a shallow focus means that the subjects are in focus but the background
isn’t. A fast shutter speed maintains a sharp image and reduces motion blur. The lighting in this
photo is studio lighting so the photographer can change the light to make the photos better. The
angle in this is facing the camera like most portrait photographs.
