3. PROPOSED PLAN
• Microcontroller act as master
• HC -06 Bluetooth 2.5 GHz communication network
• Soil moisture sensing and ADC to DAC
• Application user interface (UI)
• Low energy Bluetooth 4.0 compatibility
• Water supply controlling using L293D
• Full-spectrum fluorescent bulbs

4. AUTOMATIC IRRIGATION SYSTEM
• A key input to ensure optimum yield of the crop is the regulation of water at various
stages of its life cycle, referred to as irrigation
• During extreme weather conditions and natural calamities accessibility of the farms is
an important issue and an automated irrigation system capable of being remote
controlled management can be very useful in disaster management.
• With advancement in technology associated with sensors, sensor networking and
wireless sensor networks the routine activities are increasingly being taken over by
automated systems.

6. SOIL MOISTURE
• Soil moisture is a key variable in
controlling the exchange of water and
heat energy between the land surface
and the atmosphere through
evaporation and plant transpiration.

7. ARDUINO UNO
• Arduino Uno is a microcontroller
board based on the atmega328p. It
has 14 digital input/output pins (of
which 6 can be used as PWM outputs),
6 analog inputs, a 16 MHz quartz
crystal, a usb connection, a power jack,
an ICSP header and a reset button.

8. BLUETOOTH MODULE
• Bluetooth is a wireless technology
standard for exchanging data over
short distances (using short-
wavelength UHF radio waves in the
band from 2.4 to 2.485 GHz) from fixed
and mobile devices, and building
personal area networks (PANs).

10. LM293D
• These devices consist of two
independent voltage comparators that
are designed to operate from a single
power supply over a wide range of
voltages.

12. CONCLUSION
• The greenhouse effect is a reality that necessitates precision agriculture which includes
an automated irrigation system.
• An Arduino-based automated irrigation system that involves switching the irrigation
drive as per the real time data provided by the soil moisture sensor has been proposed
• A user interface was deployed on an Android smart phone to accomplish wireless
communication between the phone and Arduino Uno board to facilitate remote
control operation of the irrigation drive.
