Battery charging from Thermal power generator and solar and
wind turbine
Aim: this project aim is energy harvesting, power scavenging, wind energy, thermal energy,
solar energy, power conditioning, hybrid systems, multimodal systems, multifunctional
structures.
Abstract:
The harvesting of ambient energy to power small electronic components has received
tremendous attention over the last decade. Thermal energy due to temperature gradients, solar
energy and wind energy to wind turbine constitute some of the major sources of energy that can
be harvested. Researchers have presented several papers focusing on each of these topics
separately. This paper aims to develop a hybrid power generator and storage system using these
three sources of energy in order to improve both structural multi-functionality and system-level
robustness in energy harvesting. A multilayer structure with flexible solar, wind, battery and
metallic substructure layers is developed. Thermal energy is also used for charging the battery
using a power generator. Performance results are presented for charging battery using each one
of the home application.
Advantages
1) Wind power it’s clean It's a clean fuel source. Wind energy doesn't pollute the air
like power plants that rely on combustion of fossil fuels, such as coal or natural
gas. Wind turbines don't produce atmospheric emissions that cause acid rain or
greenhouse gasses.
2) Solar energy is a resource that is not only sustainable for energyconsumption, it is
indefinitely renewable (at least until the sun runs out in billions of years).Solar power can
be used to generate electricity; it is also used in relatively simpletechnology to heat water
(solar water heaters).
3) It requires less space as compared to Hydro power plants.
4) Cost of generation is less than that of diesel power plants.
