2. A title sequence is a opening scene of a film
with continuity editing done to change the
order of which the clips are in the film.
Opening sequences have titles during it
showing the name of the actors, the film and
the director . They use continuity editing for
the audience to understand what’s going on
as the opening sequence is a introduction to
a film and give the audience an idea of what
the film is going to be about.
3. A trailer is a montage of clips of a film
showing the main parts of a film that are
important, titles are only used for the name
of the film and phrases relating to the film. It
is not made to give the plot of the film away
as a trailer purpose is to try and get people to
go and watch the film, this is why they only
pick the most interesting parts of the film so
the audience will want to see it.
4. The differences of the two are that opening
sequence uses continuity editing where a trailer
uses montage editing.
A trailer would only last a minute or just over
whereas a opening sequence could last between
2-8 minutes depending to the detail.
The purpose of a trailer is to persuade the
audience to see the film whereas a opening
sequence is to give the audience a idea of what
the film is about and to encourage them to watch
more.
