2. Homework Given out on a Wednesday, handed in the following Tuesday. Should be neatly presented. 10-15 minutes every day should be enough: not to be done in one go on the Monday night.
3. Shared Learning Challenges Recommended minimum 1 per week. Work should be done with a parent or carer at home. Please don’t print off pages from the internet. Work should be in children’s own words. Available to view on the school website on P5/4 page.
4. Literacy Reading: Groups are following Story World and Literacy World programmes. Writing: Class are working on technical writing skills such as punctuation and connectives at the moment. Moving on to creative writing and poetry before Christmas.
5. Numeracy Following Scottish Heinemann Maths schemes. Practical activities. Maths games. Have been working on ‘Time’ this term. Moving on to length next week.
6. Topics This term:“Fantastic Mr Fox” and “Heroes and Villains”. Term 2: The Solar System. Term 3: Myths and Legends/Jacobites. Term 4: Heroes and Role Models (2012 Olympics).
7. Learning Logs Based on the Four Capacities of the Curriculum for Excellence. Pupils record what they have learned during the week, set targets for the next week and review last week’s.
