    2. Aim In 2009-2010 one of our whole-school aims is for all staff and students to learn how to use the MLE and build up an online digital archive of subject- related resources that support teaching and learning

    5. MLE Basics • The MLE is an interactive website that you log in to. It functions like an online computer with built-in software • It is made up of virtual “rooms”, which are housed within virtual corridors • Rooms are only accessible by those members given ‘access’ privileges
    6. MLE Basics • It also has a number of communication tools such as internal email, a shared calendar and diary functions • There is a ‘Staff Room’ where staff members can access confidential documents, publications, read notices and easily communicate with each other.
    7. MLE Basics • There is an area for storing your own documents • Easy access to external web sites • You can easily search and communicate with other members of the school

    9. 2009 MLE Priorities: By the end of next year, we would like all departments to develop the following: 1) Department Resource Room An area where students can access key resources, specifically homework and coursework materials. 2) Communication System Through the use of stickies, messages and discussion forums, subject teachers can communicate with each other and Key Stage 4 & 5 students.
    10. The MLE will be the first point of contact. Please check: Personal Toolbar ✓ Your Today page ✓ The Staff Room for daily admin messages ✓ Your stickies & emails ✓ Diary (Calendar) Resource Rooms ✓ Build up departmental Resource Room, adding access to homework and coursework ✓ Practice using some of the teaching & learning tools provided by Fronter i.e. Forums and Collaborative documents
    11. Support To support staff, there will be a number of MLE clinics every month, which are scheduled in the calendar. This is open to all staff who wish to develop their MLE skills. You can also visit the Support & Training Room for more self-directed tutorials.
    12. Passwords If you lose your password, contact the IT Support Team by logging a call. Please encourage students to change their passwords to their usual log in password. Students who have lost passwords should contact the IT Support directly or the teacher can collate a list and make a log call.
