1. The social group represented in my magazine consists of 16 to 25 year
old females. My magazine is more specific to independent females with
an edge. My aim is to move away from the stereotypical glamorous
female perspective, although there are still hints of that glamour.
On my cover I have left the background blank to show boldness and
sophistication, yet to create contrast, I have given the artist a big
‘messy’ hairstyle. Her darker makeup is also contrasted to the creamy
girly ruffled top she is wearing.
2. My DPS photo shows more of the dark edgy side. The black dress
looks very ‘rock chick’ yet the colourful patterns give it a glamorous
feel. The hairstyle looks quite ‘punk rock’ due to the shaven side
illusion. Overall the background is dark and gloomy but this time the
bright makeup is in contrast.
This appeals to girls that like glamour yet tend to have a more dark
rebellious side. It also represents a very experimental phase which
many teenagers and young adults go through.

7. Although I have used the same overall position and idea of the
photo,
I have changed the details to make it more personal to my magazine.
I chose to stick with the more basic qualities to head me into the right
direction before adding details.
I want my audience to feel elegant and mature therefore I tried to stick
with mature themes, e.g. plain background.
8. Similar dress top style which represents a
more mature social group since it would not
be appropriate for younger girls to dress this
way.

10. The ‘celebrity’ image is known to look very glamorous and perfect. They are
normally very touched up and airbrushed to look unattainable. They have a
certain image they must present and carry. This includes slim
figures, flawless skin and glossy hair.
I have shown this in my magazine by airbrushing and editing my
photo’s, correcting any flaws as I go along. I have stuck to the ‘celebrity’
guideless of perfection and gave the whole overall photo a touch of
atmosphere by giving the photo tone and saturation.
These images tend to appeal to mid teen to mid twenties and sometimes
even older as what the celebrities look like is seen as the norm of how any
female should look.
Women often by these magazine to see what celebrities are wearing or
looking like therefore they can adapt the same style.
