2. Where does pollution come from?? Pollution is man-made. Nature doesn’t produce pollution . It recycles everything. When a plant or animal dies, it decays. What is left makes the soil richer. Then something new can grow.
3. However people make things we cannot recycle. Every year we make more things. When we make them, we cause pollution. When we have finished with them, we throw them away. This causes more Pollution
4. Types of pollution Pollution is divided into three types: Land, air and water pollution
5. 1. land pollution There are special places to keep rubbish, but some is on ourstreets and fields. This is not only ugly, but is also dirty. This can cause illness.
6. 2. air pollution Cars, taxis, buses and planesall make pollutiongases. So dofactories. These gases go upinto theatmospherewhere they make alayerof pollutionaround the world. As a result, heat cannotescapeand ourworld is slowly getting warmer.This climate is calledglobalwarming
7. 3. water pollution Many places in the world [including Palestine] do not have enough water. It is important that we look after what we have carefully. Chemicals from factories, or from farmers’ fields, can pollute water. Used, dirty water can get mixed up with clean water. This is unhealthy and dangerous. Around the world, 25,000 people die every day because of unclean water.
