Explain The Integumentary System
1.Name and describe the function of each major organ system in the body.
a.Integumentary system The integumentary system consists of the hair, skin, and nails and is the
largest organ in the human body. It acts as a protector of the deeper body systems, maintains and
regulates body temperature, and helps to eliminate waste and toxins from the body. It also senses
touch and pressure as well as temperatures and pain.
b.Skeletal system The skeletal system refers to the bones and joints of the human body. At birth,
infants have over 260 bones in the body but as an adult, many of them fuse together to make a
total of 206 bones. The skeletal system is the base of what allows us to move around and perform
even the smallest of tasks. It also ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Muscular system The muscle system is just that muscles. Muscles, with the support of the skeletal
system, are what makes humans walk, run, or grab and lift thing by contracting and working
together with other muscles and body parts.
d.Nervous system The nervous system is the fast acting message center for the brain and spinal
cord to nerves and other parts of the body. When you think to jump, this is what tells your brain and
your muscles when and where to jump. Like the integumentary system, it also senses and regulates
body temperature on the outside, but the nervous system also regulates and detects internal
temperatures.
e.Endocrine system The endocrine system houses the hypothalamus, pituitary gland, gonads,
thyroid, parathyroid, pancreas, and adrenals. It is responsible for secreting hormones throughout
the human body. Hormones are what regulate things like our sex drive, reproduction, sleep patterns,
metabolism, and moods.
f.Cardiovascular system The cardiovascular system houses the heart and blood vessels what keeps
you alive. Without this system (a beating heart), our blood would not circulate throughout our body

American Enlightenment Research Paper
The Enlightenment period in the eighteenth century is a significant time in history as it became the
standard structure for democratic society. However, Enlightenment did not address slavery yet
enlightened government rule leading to the Declaration of Independence and United States
Constitution. Both milestones in history are significant game changers in history. The term
American enlightenment is an eighteenth century movement in North America where a group of
people sought enlightenment. American Enlightenment is an awakening of ideals transcendent in
the subject matter of intellectual, political, scientific, cultural, and social endeavors (qtd. in
Winterer 20 ). The term American Enlightenment within itself is two part. The first part of
American Enlightenment is an intellectual shift of ideals in the eighteenth century; a state of being.
Alternatively, the second fold definition of American Enlightenment is a process of emancipation
from pre rational mode of thought with objectivity for a brighter future (qtd. in Winterer 20).
However, in broad brush terms, the definition... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Hundred Year War Research Paper
The Hundred Year War was a war between the French and English in the 13th and 14th century.
The war was a conflict over land, titles and rights between both the French and English. This
involved several generations of French and English who have claimed a period of more than a
hundred years(Hundred Years War, pars.1). This was said to last form around 1337 to 1453 by the
House of Plantagenet. It was accompanied by some significant battles and people during this time

Liberates the Orleans, The Battle of Agincourtand Philip VI. Joan of Arc liberates the Orleans was
one of many events that occurred during the Hundred Year War. Joan s passion and influence on
the French inspired and unified the French army. In the beginning of the war she led the first
troops to enter Orleans on April 28, 1428.The French split into two columns, but they entered
easily into the city of Orleans. They burned and English fortress that had been guarding a bridge
across the Loire. The French had done two consecutive masses. As the English saw how the French

Labor Unions Essays
In this essay I ll write about union membership, membership trends, the two types and levels, and
the importance of unions. I ll also discuss some of the negative sides of unionization in corporate
America today.
Labor unions are groups or clubs of workers and employees who bond together to get good
conditions, fair pay, and fair hours for their labor. These unions are usually joined together, and
most unions in America are some branch of the largest labor union organization in the United
States, the AFL CIO with thirteen million members.
One of the largest unions is the Teamsters Union, formed in 1903, and perhaps the most
contentious, union with 1.3 million members, were expelled from the AFL CIO, in 1957. The labor
organization grew ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the reasons for the decline was the loss of jobs in manufacturing, which was the labor s
biggest stronghold. America has lost three million factory jobs over the past four years. The second
reason is heavily unionized industries have been decreasing. Other reasons are many firms have
moved from the unionized to the not so unionized Southeast and Southwest region and they tend to
hire nonunion workers. Some of the American companies have moved their manufacturing process
to other countries where very few unionized labor is employed. The management of the companies
is providing benefits that include higher wages and better working conditions, therefore employees
don t need to join any union. The largest growths in employment take place in the service
industries, and these industries regularly are not unionized.
The two main types of unions are craft unions and industrial unions. Craft unions are organizations
of workers with similar skills. This type of union can maintain control over the supply of skilled
laborers; often work for multiple employers in a year. (e.g. construction unions, pilot unions)
Industrial unions are organized by industry which originally started b/c ineligible for craft unions
and typically work for one employer for long period. (e.g. steelworkers, auto workers)
Unions often have several levels which are; local: workers in plant or industry in a limited
geographical area (Buhler union was CAW local 2224), national: larger union

Special Care Baby Unit ( Scbu )
The aim of this assignment is to describe, analyze and reflect a specific scenario throughout my
time in special care baby unit (SCBU)..
The concept of reflective practice, popularized by Schön s (1983) work, has been applied in
nursing for various purposes, including as a way to narrow the gap between theory and practice
in clinical practice(Clarke, 1986) and a way to discover knowledge embedded in practice (Benner
at al. 1996). Reflection, or thinking about our experiences, is the key to learning. Reflection
allows us to analyze our experiences, make changes based on our mistakes, keep doing what is
successful, and build upon or modify past knowledge based on new knowledge.

According to Thomas (1994), temperature control or thermoregulation in the neonate is a critical
physiological function that is strongly influenced by physical immaturity, extent of illness and
environmental factors.
St GeorgeВґs Hospital guidelines suggest that the acceptable range for axial temperature is 36.6
37.2В°C. This range should be maintained at all times to allow normal physiological function and
body metabolism. The nursing diagnosis of hypothermia is the state in which an individual s body
temperature is reduced below normal range (Wilkinson, 2000, p. 205).
Term and specially pre term infants are more susceptible to become cold and hypothermic. They
have a higher body surface area to body mass ratio, higher metabolic rate with limited stores of
metabolic substrates, and limited and immature thermoregulatory behaviors, including a poorly
developed shivering response (Hackman, 2001)
It is essential that neonates are

Disadvantages Of Pilgrimages
Many pilgrimages test and enhance the faith of each believer, embarking on a once in a lifetime
journey enriched with spiritual fulfillment. Pilgrims commonly seek a specific place that is
associated with a divinity or other holy personage. One of many pilgrimages is the Hajj, located in
Saudi Arabia. It provides Muslims all around the world a sense of spiritual and psychological
nourishment. While it encourages social and cultural mixing, as well as interactions between them,
each Muslim undertakes the pilgrimage with a religious motive and faith, often enabling them to
embrace cultural diversity while seeking a spiritual cleansing of their souls and a fresh start. After
the journey of the pilgrimage, the believers bring back many religious and emotional experience
that would affect them throughout their daily life.
The Hajj is one of the five pillars of Islam which occurs in the last month on the Islamic Calendar.
The Hajj is a five to six day journey that will challenge Muslims to take part in many celebrations,
sacrificial and spiritual practices, intended to bring about greater humility and unity among the
Muslim community. Giving them a chance to wipe clean their sins and start fresh (Batrawy, 2016).
The pilgrimage is in Mecca as the city is a significant place as the prophet Muhammad was born
there. The journey to Mecca to engage in the Hajj must be performed by every Muslim who is

The Importance Of Preparing Dinner At West Chester Grove
Roasted chicken, mashed potatoes with gravy, biscuits, and a vegetable melody was what Phillip
s mother, Krista, had prepared her family for dinner. It was a meal that would have taken her all
day if she had assembled it from scratch, But, thankfully, the whole process was streamlined given
that she elected to use the house s food hydrator and cooker instead of conventional methods. The
automated process of preparing dinner had also freed up more time for her writing, which she
definitely needed as she was already late with her contribution to In shape fitness magazine.

Lifting A Truck Essay
When we think of the word big trucks you think of monster trucks first but it actually can also
mean the big tall lift of a truck and that is how monster trucks came to be. Lifting a vehicle over
the legal height is not allowed on the streets because of how big the vehicle is when modified
and can run the risk of running people off the road or over their car. When lifting a vehicle
started out it was for the everyday man or woman who was interested in mudding there vehicle to
the max and now it has became much more popular because people love the thrill of riding higher
than everyone else and can still mud in their everyday driver. The method of lifting a vehicle was

The lifts were starting to go into the favor of the law again and when it did the changes were
starting to make people upset and tired of all the law changes. In Illinois you can t lift the body
from the chassis more than 3 inches. In terms of bumper height, a GVWR(gross vehicle weight
rating) of 4,500 pounds or less and your front bumper can t go higher than 24 inches. GVWRs
between 4,501 and 7,500 pounds determine the maximum height of 27 inches at the front and 29
inches at the rear. Finally, if your truckis between 7,501 and 9,000 pounds, the allowable
alteration is a maximum height of 28 inches in front and 30 inches in back. The laws of lifting
were made to help keep the safety of the road and not to make everybody run off the road
because of a big lifted truck heading down the road. When the lift wasn t enough the tires

Human Development Index ( Hdi )
After market reforms where announced in the late 1970s by Deng Xiaoping (paramount leader),
China has been among the most rapidly growing economies in the world. Although having serious
natural resource scarcity this growth has been speared headed through 80% of china s exports are
manufactured goods making china heavily dependant on international markets (export led) . The
Gross Domestic Productper capita (GDP) of china in 1962 was at record lows of 130.14 USD, since
market reforms, China regularly exceeding 10% GDP growth annually (figure 1) and was last
recorded at 6416.18 US dollars in 2015 .
Gross national income (GNI) is the total income received by all households, including that earned
in foreign countries. China is ranked 113th in 2013 in the world having an $11,850PPP and
although GNI does not measure economic development it is used to measure the ability to buy
goods and services . Human development index (HDI) is a composite indicator measurement
based on life expediency, education and standard of living GDP, chia in ranked 101st in the world .
This growth has led to an increase in the standard of living and a decline in poverty. As differences
in the cost of living across the world evolve so does the poverty line. Since 2008, the last update,
the poverty line has increased $0.25c to $1.25. As of October 2015, the line has further increased

The Benefits Of Organic Farming
As we have been discussing in class, the debate on organic food has been rising. Many say that it
is the way of the future, while many others say it is going back to the ways of the past. When
synthetic chemical fertilizers, pesticides and herbicides are currently some of the most used things
in farming today to help facilitate perfect growing conditions and increase yields, could it be
possible for organic farmers compete with them? If organic farmingwere to become the go to
method of farming, we have to ask: Is organic farming globally sustainable? While there may be
many ways to answer this question while looking at different aspects of the organic movement and
their definitions, one answer in particular jumped out at me. Organic farming is not globally
sustainable because it is not efficient enough to serve the global market. Sustainability is one of the
top issues when it comes to farming today. Farmers need to consider the effect they are having on
their land when using certain practices and products. For this reason, it is important to remember
that organic and conventional farming both require extensive work to maintain their products and
to provide for the consumer. As we have seen in Steven Shapin s essay What Are You Buying
When You Buy Organic , in where he references Michael Pollan talking about Asparagus, which
had been grown in Argentina, [and] air freighted six thousand miles to the States (433) , the role of
the consumer is not limited to those in

Mindy Grossman: An Emotionally Intelligent Leader
Emotional intelligence is a phrase used in the business world to explain one s competency in
displaying and handling one s own emotions as well as the emotions of others around him or her. In
his book, Working With Emotional Intelligence, Daniel Goleman explains the importance of
Emotional Intelligence and how it is more imperative for one to have high Emotional Intelligence
rather than a high IQ. This is because, no matter how talented someone may be in their line of
work, he or she must still be able to work well with others and express their ideas. Goleman

CEO of HSN, Inc. she has displayed immense Emotional Intelligence and because of that, was able
to transform the company. Grossman displays a wide array of emotional competencies spanning all
of the five emotional elements as described by Goleman: self awareness, self regulation, motivation,
empathy and social skills.
An area of Emotional Intelligence where Grossman thrives is her excelled self awareness.
Goleman describes self awareness as knowing one s internal states, preferences, resources and
institutions (Working With Emotional Intelligence, 26). In other words, it is one s ability to
introspectively assess his or her strengths and weaknesses. Further, Goleman categorizes emotional
awareness, accurate self assessment, and self confidence within self awareness. Self awareness is
a critical competence to display because it is one s ability to know him or herself. Without
understanding oneself, it would be impossible to know how to improve or which areas to improve.
Similarly, without this self awareness, one is unable to maximize his or her effectiveness within the

joining of this with the intellect of the Italian people that lead to the change of the Western World.
This period was definitely more than just a rebirth though, it was also an age of new discoveries,
both geographic and intellectual. Both of these resulted in changes of tremendous importance for
Western civilization.
In the economy, for example, there were many innovations that lead to a commercial revolution.
There were innovations in banking, accounting, company structure, insurance and commercial law
and the invention of commercial capitalism. All of these things worked together to usher in a new
world that was very different from that of classical Antiquity but they also laid the foundation for
what was to come during the Renaissance period.
When looking at the culture during this time there was great influence from the Humanist
movement led by Petrarch. There has been some controversy over time as to exactly what the
humanist movement was all about. According to Burkhardt the time was a discovery of man,
which was in direct contrast to the current secular interests of the time. Modern humanists are
defined as someone who has a set of human values, which are normally secular in nature, that are
based on a particular conception of many and his potential.

How Did Geography Influence Ancient Egyptian Religion
This investigation attempts to correctly analyze in what way the geography of Egypt influenced the
ancient Egyptian religion. This query is very relevant because, certain geographical items
influenced the creation of the ancient religion that helped shape many religions that are very
prevalent today such as Christianity and Judaism. The issues that will be addressed are how the
great Sahara Desert surrounding the civilization, the Nile river that nourishes the whole population,
and how the overall common beliefs and myths built the foundation of the ancient Egyptian religion
and subsequently influenced modern day religions. This analysis will focus on the time period of
3110 BCE to 550 CE and the place being examined is the country of Egypt. This will be
accomplished through the exploration of research documents and informational novels.... Show

The purpose of this journal was to inform scholars and readers about the country of Egypt and its
origins: the Ancient Egyption civilization and how it was built upon nature itself. The value of
Hansen s journal gives the perspective of a whole new world and geographical features. Egypt
is surrounded by harsh unlivable climats, but the civilization was able to last over 500 years by
using their geographical resources to their advantage to create faith, protection, and life as
described by Kathy. Kathy has a PHD that she gained from Union University and is an associate
publisher of Quintessential Careers. Despite the highly informative ideas, a limitation of the
book is that it was written to describe Egyptian environmental aspects for readers to learn more
about Egypt and maybe the desire to someday travel to Egypt. The book may have the perspective
of a sort of travel guide showing a small bais while, trying to persuade people to travel to

Femininity against Masculinity in A White Heron Essay
Since its first appearance in the 1886 collection A White Heron and Other Stories, the short story
A White Heron has become the most favorite and often anthologized of Sarah Orne Jewett. Like
most of this regionalist writer s works, A White Heron was inspired by the people and landscapes
in rural New England, where, as a little girl, she often accompanied her doctor father on his
visiting patients. The story is about a nine year old girl who falls in lovewith a bird hunter but does
not tell him the white heron s place because her love of nature is much greater. In this story, the
author presents a conflict between femininityand masculinityby juxtaposing Sylvia, who has a
peaceful life in country, to a hunter from town, which implies her... Show more content on

?Sylvia still watched the young man with loving admiration. She had never seen anybody so
charming and delightful, the woman?s heart, asleep in the child, was vaguely thrilled by a
dream of love.? As the symbol of masculinity, the hunter is an aggressor although he is described
to be kind, handsome, friendly and sympathetic. When first met Sylvia in the woods, he ?called
out in a very cheerful and persuasive tone? and spoke to her in a courteous way. In fact, he takes
advantages of Sylvia because he is in need of home and food. When he needs Sylvia?s help, he
proves he cares for her so much, ?He listened eagerly to the old woman?s quaint talk, he watched
Sylvia?s pale face and shining gray eyes with ever growing enthusiasm.? ?He told her many
things about the birds and what they knew and where they lived and what they did with
themselves. And he gave her a jack knife, which she thought as great a treasure as if she were a
desert islander.? However, he is cruel and merciless to nature, his gun is a convention which is to
destroy the nature. ?I have been hunting for some birds?. At the end, he goes away and does not
help her family when she refuses to tell him about the heron?s nest.
Not only their characters, but Sylvia?s and the hunter?s behaviors towards the nature are very
different and contrasting. Both of them love birds, however the way they show their love is
dissimilar. Although saying that

The Story About The Heroine Vinette
After finding an ancient fertility statue, an insecure divorced mother wakes up as a superhero and
must save her rebellious teenage daughter from her soon to be evil stepmother.
STORY COMMENTS
SUPERSOMETHING is a super, fun comedy that entertains and delivers a very likable heroine that
the audience finds endearing. It s a superhero tale that s highly creative and the imagination shines.
The highlight of this tale is the heroine Vinette. She s a quirky and insecure mother, who once
dreamed of becoming a cop. She gets a second chance when she s magically transformed into a
superhero. She s an easy character to like. She s far from perfect, but that s why the audience
adores her. She has a good heart. She s the type of character an ... Show more content on

It s a smart and fun idea that it s inside the tampon machine, although it s not clear how it got there.
The idea of the statue comes early and sets up nice anticipation.
However, the true inciting event is when Vinette discovers that she now has superpowers. This
comes a bit late. Consider eliminating the dream. While there are some fun visuals in the dream,
such as the string of tampons, the dream slows the pace down and isn t essential to the storytelling.
Currently, the reveal that Vinette has changed comes around page 24, but consider trying to move
this up to around page 15. Make sure to highlight her denial and have fun with her discovering her
new powers.
The first act also sets up the idea of drugs being distributed at the school. So, when Vinette
discovers she has powers and decides she wants to fight crime, given her desire to be a cop,
make sure she verbalizes that she wants to find out who is dealing drugs at the school. This
makes her goal clearer and more tangible. She can decide to practice her new skills at crime
fighting, but this is where the structure is the weakest. There s a series of scenes in which she talks
to her friends and then goes on several crime stopping adventures.
Unfortunately, this makes the structure weaker and a bit more fragmented. Also, the idea of
attempted rape doesn t fit with the tone. Consider focusing more on her investigation of who might
be distributing the drugs. Peel away her powers.

How The Dead Man Exposed To The Expectations Of Society
Since we are very young, we are exposed to the expectations of society. At school, we learn the
importance of being sociable and a letter grade defines our intelligence. Society informs us of
proper behavior and gives us the definition of success. It seems like being ourselves isn t enough,
which makes us feel like we must pretend to be. In the poems Drowning Not Waving by Stevie
Smith, and The unknown citizen by Auden, exposes us to this reality and how it affects our lives.
Smith s dead man represents a person who s suffering deeply yet no one notices. In front of
others, he pretends to be fine. Smith s writes poor chap, he always loved larking (394), which
gives us an image of how the dead man is perceived as happy by others. Usually when we pretend
is because we fear to be judged and misunderstood. We disguise ourselves and keep silence our true
thoughts and feelings. With a smile, the dead man tries to hide his sadness from others, but secretly
he hopes for someone to help him. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Rejection can be painful and to avoid it we pretend. We become puppets of society, which is
what Auden s unknown citizen represents. Auden s poem is written in the form of a public
monument. In this case a written tribute to a deceased unknown citizen. While alive, the
unknown citizen is an individual of exceptional behavior. He follows all the rules and lives the
life society expects him to live. Auden s writes he worked in a factory and never got fired (Auden

added five children to the population (Auden 394). Like Smith s dead man, Auden s unknown

Deoxygenated Blood Circulation
An understanding of the circulation of blood through the heart might help the reader to get an
better understanding of how the different parts of the heart relate. It helps to think of all the blood
vessels in the body as a huge, sophisticated railway network, where essentially all the blood in the
veins throughout the body ends up in the vena cava, the railway end station. The superior vena
cava receives bloodfrom the upper part of the body, whereas the inferior vena cava receives blood
from the lower part of the body. As the blood fills up in the RA, the increased pressure eventually
makes the tricuspid valve shut open, allowing deoxygenated blood to enter the RV. As the
deoxygenated blood flows into the RV, the pressure in front of the

Step #1: Call A Licensed Septic Installation Company
The first thing you want to do is call up a licensed septic installation company to perform the septic

A Thousand Splendid Suns is a novel about two woman protagonists, Mariam and Laila. The

Persuasive Articles on Gun Control Essays
Persuasive Articles on Gun Control
Persuading an audience can be done in several different fashions, one of which is Hugh Rank s
Model of Persuasion. Rank s model states that two major strategies are used to achieve the
particular goal of persuasion. These strategies are nicely set into two main schemas; the first
method is to exaggerate an aspect of something, known as intensify. While the second is to
discredit it, which is referred to as downplay. Al Franken, JeffreySnyder, Harlan Ellison, and
George Will, have all written persuasive articles about gun control. In reading all of the various
articles on gun control by authors, I found George F. Will s The Last Word to be the most
persuasive. Will wrote his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Franken was also able to downplay the usefulness of a firearm by including a series of sarcastic
tips for tragedy in a home. For example, 1. Keep the gun loaded... 2. Put the gun in an unlocked
drawer... 3. Rest assured. 1 Where Franken s article comes up short is the use of hypothetical
numbers to exaggerate and intensify the deadliness of guns. His sarcasm adds diversity to his
piece, but should be used sparingly. Franken s conclusion causes his argument to lose its
effectiveness, after building his case it just seems ridiculous and out of place.
The least persuasive essay out of the four was Harlan Ellison s An Edge in My Voice. Ellison
presents his argument in a style that seems to me is more of a disgruntled rambling about both
famous and infamous people that die from gun shot, than an article about gun control. Ellison
spends the first few pages asking the reader if they cried when a certain person died; he begins
with famous people such as Martin Luther King, Bobby Kennedy, and John Lennon, and then
moves on to more obscure examples. Instead of trying to build an argument, Ellison seemed to be
more caught up with anger and the notion of conspiracies. He does however try to use the intensify
technique of Rank s model, to persuade the reader of the horror of deaths caused by guns and their
importance. Although Ellison did try to persuade his audience in a different manor, I felt it was
ineffective at best,

The Positive And Negative Effects Of Mosquitoes
According to the U.S. Center for Disease Control, every year more than 1.5 million people

Persuasive Essay On Latin American Cinema
Dr. Strange and others films like it are not as strange to viewers as Hollywood would like us to
believe. Hollywood Cinema has been a dominating force ever since its inception in the early 20th
century. From Columbus, to California, and even Colombia; Hollywood cinema has had its
impact on the market while displacing other types of cinema. I believe Latin American Cinema
does not get as fairly distributed as it should and I feel we should appreciate it more because of this.
Columbus is a fairly diverse city with Latinos making up about 6% of the population. However, it s
cinemas are not. AMC, Cinemark, and Regal Cinemas are the big names in town that feed the
population Hollywood blockbusters like Dr. Strange, Suicide Squad, The Accountant, and so on.

Quality Of Life As A Good Life
Quality of life (QOL) means a good life and we believe that a good life is the same as living a
life with a high quality. This may seem evident, but it is necessary to make such a simple
clarification, because medical jargon often uses very narrow concepts of the quality of life (for
example, side effect profiles). Medical advertisements often depict the quality of life as one
factor among many, on a par with other improvements that a certain medical product promises. In
this work, the quality of life belongs on the highest, most common level of life. All great religions
and philosophies have a notion of a good life ranging from saying that a good life is attained by
practical codes of conduct to requests to engage in a certain positive... Show more content on

The objective quality of life reveals itself in a person s ability to adapt to the values of a culture
and tells us little about that person s life. Examples may be social status or the status symbols
one should have to be a good member of that culture. (Objective is used here in the sense of
nonsubjective or objective facts. Nonsubjective is concerned with the external and easily
established conditions of life that many observers can rate identically.) The notion of a good
life can be observed from subjective to the objective, where this spectrum incorporates a number
of existing quality of life theories. We call this spectrum the integrative quality of life (IQOL)
theory and discuss the following aspects in this paper: well being, satisfaction with life,
happiness, meaning in life, the biological information system ( balance ), realizing life potential,
fulfillment of needs, and objective factors. Well Being: The most natural aspect of the
subjective quality of life is well being. The quality of life is seen here in terms of an assessment
of one s own quality of life. When we meet other people, we always say, How are you? or How s
life? We are thus asking that person to give us an evaluation of their quality of life. Satisfaction
with Life: When people are asked whether they are satisfied with life, they often say that
something or other is amiss. People are usually less satisfied with life than their state of well being

conceived through the agency of a God. To begin, let s look at Luke 1: 34 35, How will this be,
Mary asked the angel, since I am a virgin? The angel answered, The Holy Spirit will come on
you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will
become the Son of God. This is a reference to the virgin birth. Jesus was thought to be born of a
virgin and therefore was only conceived because the Holy Spirit gave her a child. Similarly, in
the legend of Alexander the Great s birth, it is believed that a God had lain with the mother of
Alexander in the form of a serpent; which then gave way to the birth of Alexander the Great.
Does this not also make Alexander that Great a Son of God? These similar stories make it less
unique of an idea that Jesus was born by the agency of

Poetry Finds Its Most Memorable Moments In Its Least...
Poetry finds its most memorable moments in its least characterized elements. It is in the words
that are not on the paper or spoken that poetry shines over other forms of communication. The
quality and depth of implications in a poem are what separate good from great. It is in the ability to
say so much by purposely not saying anything that makes poetrystand out in an observer s mind.
Things left incomplete or unsaid naturally stick out in people s minds as there is a want to see the
full image or completed thought. Leaving it open for interpretation not only promotes greater
attention to other details in the piece in order to make sense of that which is left unsaid, but also
naturally promotes discussion and the addition of multiple... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Included in this anthology is a freestyle from Method Man, in it, he narrates a familiar scene
unfolding in the street.
Crime scene, coppers and sirens
Helicopters and high beams, the tensions is rising
Fiends keeping they pipe clean
This is what life means, a dollar and a dream
Everybody wants nice things
The kid was only nineteen, hole in his chest now
He s fighting, for his last breath
He s seeing death its frightening
The grip on the ghetto is tightening
You try to do the right thing? They do you just like King
In this narration, Method Man includes enough detail to give a vivid mental image of the scene that
is being played out in front of the listener. He masterfully uses different pronunciations and meter in
order to keep the rhythm through the piece and maintain his rhymes. He pronounces sirens like
sireens in order to rhyme it with high beams, and mixes in masculine rhymes at the beginning of his
sentences and feminine rhymes at the ends. With these tools he creates the image and implants it in
the listener s mind, but leaves out enough detail so that it could be any teen, shot for any reason, in
any ghetto. These important details being left unsaid give the rap a message that is applicable to
any number of people.
Other ways of promoting thought without forcing it on the reader directly is to

Riordan Manufacturing s Implementation Stage
Riordan Manufacturing s implementation stage is going to take a group effort. To combine talents
from many different fields to complete this stage of the project effectively. This implementation
will rely on the human resources department and the information technology departments. We
included both departments in the design and development processes.
The developers have chosen a software package that was designed by Microsoft to implement the
Riordan HRIS. The decision was largely pushed due to the fact that Riordan current OS is the
Windows platform. Our team will be implementing the Microsoft base software, which will
automatically create a new database on the MySql.
Using the waterfall approach the system developers will be able to focus on one piece of the
system and move on each part separately. This will give the design team more time to focus on
small sections of the new coding. Moving from one stage to the next means that each step has been
checked thoroughly and is completed.
According to Implementation Phase Recommendations (2014), During the testing phase, these test
cases are implemented, automated, and initially executed to verify that, as various parts of the
system reach code complete, testing is ready to verify performance. In addition, anticipate running
the verification tests many times during a test pass as performance bottlenecks are identified and
fixes provided. Having the tests automated makes it easier, faster, and more consistent to re run

Augustine And Two Fathers Of The Greek Church
Augustine, and two Fathers of the Greek Church, St. Athanasius and St. Chrysostom ( Interior
of the Basilica. ). Not far away, in the center of the crossed halls of Saint Peter s and over the
high altar sits the Baldachin, a giant bronze and gilt canopy with four twisting pillars. Decorated
in olive and laurel vines with nude children at play and chasing swarms of bees to come to rest
underneath the canopy at a golden dove, symbolizing, peace, victory in peace, purity and unity,
and the Holy Spirit, respectively ( Interior of the Basilica. ; DiMassa, 202 03). The bees
symbolize a thing that works for the hive, its only ultimate goal is the continual success of the hive
with no recompense to itself (DiMassa, 202 03). The same can be said... Show more content on

My next offensive argument is that the Catholic Church creates a space of hypocrisy by publicizing
one theme of morality but practicing whatever they like through alteration or blatant ignoring of
religious tradition within the clerical order with the intent on making money instead of upholding
doctrine. This hypocrisy extends to religious vows that were blatantly ignored by the clergy in the
past, and do so now with more secrecy. It is Cannon Law that competent authority of the Church
must take vows of the evangelical counsels of chastity, poverty, obedience, and charity (Catholic
Canonists). Meanwhile, in the past as seen by the previously mentioned criticisms of Pope
Alexander VI s use of great wealth to help seize the papacy and the modern Bishop of Bling shows
that both the vows of poverty and obedience to those vows are explicitly ignored by those who
are supposed to enforce them. As far as chastity goes, Pope Alexander IV had four, possibly
more, very public children with a mistress that he was able to legitimize and use for his own
political ventures, as well as two other mistresses he had while serving as pope, blatantly ignoring
the vow of chastity (Murphy). In more recent days the Catholic Church sex scandal of pedophilic
priests and Cardinals shows not only an air of disobedience and sexual immorality, but that the
insubordination of the clergy hasn t stopped since the more primitive days but has

However, Enlightenment did not address slavery yet enlightened government rule leading to the Declaration of Independence and United States Constitution. Both milestones in history are significant game changers in history. The term American enlightenment is an eighteenth century movement in North America where a group of people sought enlightenment. American Enlightenment is an awakening of ideals transcendent in the subject matter of intellectual, political, scientific, cultural, and social endeavors (qtd. in Winterer 20 ). The term American Enlightenment within itself is two part. The first part of American Enlightenment is an intellectual shift of ideals in the eighteenth century; a state of being. Alternatively, the second fold definition of American Enlightenment is a process of emancipation from pre rational mode of thought with objectivity for a brighter future (qtd. in Winterer 20). • 4. Hundred Year War Research Paper The Hundred Year War was a war between the French and English in the 13th and 14th century. The war was a conflict over land, titles and rights between both the French and English. This involved several generations of French and English who have claimed a period of more than a hundred years(Hundred Years War, pars.1). This was said to last form around 1337 to 1453 by the House of Plantagenet. It was accompanied by some significant battles and people during this time period of the Hundred Year War. The origins of the Hundred Years War included Joan of Arc Liberates the Orleans, The Battle of Agincourtand Philip VI. Joan of Arc liberates the Orleans was one of many events that occurred during the Hundred Year War. Joan s passion and influence on the French inspired and unified the French army. • 5. Labor Unions Essays In this essay I ll write about union membership, membership trends, the two types and levels, and the importance of unions. I ll also discuss some of the negative sides of unionization in corporate America today. Labor unions are groups or clubs of workers and employees who bond together to get good conditions, fair pay, and fair hours for their labor. These unions are usually joined together, and most unions in America are some branch of the largest labor union organization in the United States, the AFL CIO with thirteen million members. One of the largest unions is the Teamsters Union, formed in 1903, and perhaps the most contentious, union with 1.3 million members, were expelled from the AFL CIO, in 1957. The labor organization grew ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One of the reasons for the decline was the loss of jobs in manufacturing, which was the labor s biggest stronghold. America has lost three million factory jobs over the past four years. The second reason is heavily unionized industries have been decreasing. Other reasons are many firms have moved from the unionized to the not so unionized Southeast and Southwest region and they tend to hire nonunion workers. Some of the American companies have moved their manufacturing process to other countries where very few unionized labor is employed. The management of the companies is providing benefits that include higher wages and better working conditions, therefore employees don t need to join any union. The largest growths in employment take place in the service industries, and these industries regularly are not unionized. The two main types of unions are craft unions and industrial unions. Craft unions are organizations of workers with similar skills. This type of union can maintain control over the supply of skilled laborers; often work for multiple employers in a year. (e.g. construction unions, pilot unions) Industrial unions are organized by industry which originally started b/c ineligible for craft unions and typically work for one employer for long period. Many say that it is the way of the future, while many others say it is going back to the ways of the past. When synthetic chemical fertilizers, pesticides and herbicides are currently some of the most used things in farming today to help facilitate perfect growing conditions and increase yields, could it be possible for organic farmers compete with them? If organic farmingwere to become the go to method of farming, we have to ask: Is organic farming globally sustainable? While there may be many ways to answer this question while looking at different aspects of the organic movement and their definitions, one answer in particular jumped out at me. Organic farming is not globally sustainable because it is not efficient enough to serve the global market. Sustainability is one of the top issues when it comes to farming today. Farmers need to consider the effect they are having on their land when using certain practices and products. There was a tremendous revival of classical literature and art, but in the end it was the joining of this with the intellect of the Italian people that lead to the change of the Western World. This period was definitely more than just a rebirth though, it was also an age of new discoveries, both geographic and intellectual. Both of these resulted in changes of tremendous importance for Western civilization. In the economy, for example, there were many innovations that lead to a commercial revolution. There were innovations in banking, accounting, company structure, insurance and commercial law and the invention of commercial capitalism. All of these things worked together to usher in a new world that was very different from that of classical Antiquity but they also laid the foundation for what was to come during the Renaissance period. When looking at the culture during this time there was great influence from the Humanist movement led by Petrarch. There has been some controversy over time as to exactly what the humanist movement was all about. According to Burkhardt the time was a discovery of man, which was in direct contrast to the current secular interests of the time. Modern humanists are defined as someone who has a set of human values, which are normally secular in nature, that are based on a particular conception of many and his potential. ... Deoxygenated Blood Circulation An understanding of the circulation of blood through the heart might help the reader to get an better understanding of how the different parts of the heart relate. It helps to think of all the blood vessels in the body as a huge, sophisticated railway network, where essentially all the blood in the veins throughout the body ends up in the vena cava, the railway end station. The superior vena cava receives bloodfrom the upper part of the body, whereas the inferior vena cava receives blood from the lower part of the body. As the blood fills up in the RA, the increased pressure eventually makes the tricuspid valve shut open, allowing deoxygenated blood to enter the RV. Rank s model states that two major strategies are used to achieve the particular goal of persuasion. These strategies are nicely set into two main schemas; the first method is to exaggerate an aspect of something, known as intensify. While the second is to discredit it, which is referred to as downplay. Al Franken, JeffreySnyder, Harlan Ellison, and George Will, have all written persuasive articles about gun control. Franken was also able to downplay the usefulness of a firearm by including a series of sarcastic tips for tragedy in a home. For example, 1. Keep the gun loaded... 2. Put the gun in an unlocked drawer... 3. Rest assured. 1 Where Franken s article comes up short is the use of hypothetical numbers to exaggerate and intensify the deadliness of guns. His sarcasm adds diversity to his piece, but should be used sparingly. Franken s conclusion causes his argument to lose its effectiveness, after building his case it just seems ridiculous and out of place. The least persuasive essay out of the four was Harlan Ellison s An Edge in My Voice. Ellison presents his argument in a style that seems to me is more of a disgruntled rambling about both famous and infamous people that die from gun shot, than an article about gun control. Ellison spends the first few pages asking the reader if they cried when a certain person died; he begins with famous people such as Martin Luther King, Bobby Kennedy, and John Lennon, and then moves on to more obscure examples. Instead of trying to build an argument, Ellison seemed to be more caught up with anger and the notion of conspiracies. He does however try to use the intensify technique of Rank s model, to persuade the reader of the horror of deaths caused by guns and their importance. Although Ellison did try to persuade his audience in a different manor, I felt it was ineffective at best, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This may seem evident, but it is necessary to make such a simple clarification, because medical jargon often uses very narrow concepts of the quality of life (for example, side effect profiles). Medical advertisements often depict the quality of life as one factor among many, on a par with other improvements that a certain medical product promises. In this work, the quality of life belongs on the highest, most common level of life. Examples may be social status or the status symbols one should have to be a good member of that culture. (Objective is used here in the sense of nonsubjective or objective facts. Nonsubjective is concerned with the external and easily established conditions of life that many observers can rate identically.) The notion of a good life can be observed from subjective to the objective, where this spectrum incorporates a number of existing quality of life theories. We call this spectrum the integrative quality of life (IQOL) theory and discuss the following aspects in this paper: well being, satisfaction with life, happiness, meaning in life, the biological information system ( balance ), realizing life potential, fulfillment of needs, and objective factors. Well Being: The most natural aspect of the subjective quality of life is well being. The quality of life is seen here in terms of an assessment of one s own quality of life. When we meet other people, we always say, How are you? or How s life? We are thus asking that person to give us an evaluation of their quality of life. This hypocrisy extends to religious vows that were blatantly ignored by the clergy in the past, and do so now with more secrecy. It is Cannon Law that competent authority of the Church must take vows of the evangelical counsels of chastity, poverty, obedience, and charity (Catholic Canonists). Meanwhile, in the past as seen by the previously mentioned criticisms of Pope Alexander VI s use of great wealth to help seize the papacy and the modern Bishop of Bling shows that both the vows of poverty and obedience to those vows are explicitly ignored by those who are supposed to enforce them.
