1. Our impressions of the international meeting in Spain
This year we – pupils of Form 9 - Evija, Anastasija, Darja and Dmitrijs
participate in the Comenius project ”The Voices from the Land” and in March we
were in Spain (with teachers from our school – Daugavpils Saskanas basic school).
Although it took us the whole day to yet there it was still very exciting. In the plane
we were offered tasty food.
When we arrived it was very interesting to get acquainted with our families, we
quickly got used to the climate and the family. It sounded as if we live here a long
time. Although food was sometimes strange, but very tasty. Excursions were very
extensive and interesting. We went to Toledo and Madrid. We were amazed at how
luxurious was the life of the king and templars of Spain. Not everyone can have the
opportunity to see the church of the 13th century or walk around the room where the
whirling waltz kings. It was getting dark atmosphere in the city changing and shining
night lights. Though the weather was rainy so we did not mind.
Had lived for a couple of days we realized that the Spaniards are very funny and
love to go for a visit. Of course it was hard to communicate because the Spanish
family do not speak English, but after a while we started to understand a little. For us
it was a very big surprise that they sleep under four blankets. Just as we were in shock
on how late they ate dinner and how much. We parted from Spanish families in tears.
It was an unforgettable trip!
