The Greek school group spent a week in Elda, Spain participating in activities with their partner school. They were warmly welcomed upon arrival and given a tour of the well-organized school facilities. Each day consisted of project work, cultural activities, and delicious Spanish meals. Trips included visiting coastal towns, a winery, salt lakes, and palm groves. The last day was spent evaluating the successful two-year partnership project before saying goodbye with a dance performance and promises to stay in contact in the future.
2. First day, 15 April, a very warm
welcome by our partners and
the school principal at the
school Hall.The tour around
school gave us a clear idea of a
well organised school with a lot
of facilities.
Lunch with spanish specialities,
eaten immediately, was offered
by students’ families at school
and of course working on our
project occupied us most of the
morning time at Sagrada
familia.
3. The second day, a day
trip to Benidorm and
Altea was a surprise to
us and made us rethink
the protection of
environment and
preservation of
traditional villages.
4. On 17th
Day , all partners worked hard and in harmony
to finish their duties under the guidance of our lovely
coordinator. Early,in the evening, we went to a local
modern winery where they showed us how they
produce the high quality wine. Late in the restaurant
wheer we were offered delicious dishes by the spanish
team flamenko dancers impressed us with their talent.
5. 18th
of April was again a
nice day for everybody
because we visited the
SantaPola Salt Lakes
ecosystem and then we
relaxed at La Marina
Beach eating traditional
paella salads. Elche
Palm Grove gave us the
opportunity to refresh
and our mind to visit a
green world as a
paradise.
6. Friday 19th
April was the last
day. After evaluating our
project which everybody
admitted it was one of the
most successful ones
regarding the partners
cooperation, the hosting, the
work done during the two
years of partnership, the
goals achieved.
The dance show by the
spanish students was the
grand finale of our project.
Before leaving Elda and
going back home , we
promised each other to keep
contact and meet again. We
lived very touchable
moments that we keep deep
in our hearts.
7. The great time went on at
Azuzena’s house in the
country side. There we had a
blink of spanish life and
enjoyed warm hospitality by
her and all the nice spanish
teachers involved in the
project. Of course paella was
the best once again and we
honiured the dish as it
deserves to be honoured!
8. Well, this is the end of our mobility to Elda and
of our Comenius project. But her is the start of
the partners friendship on another basis, the
one of mutual respect and understanding each
other.
Thank you very much, dear friends!
